Terminal Leave cancellation

  • Following weeks of work, the E-GOAT team are delighted to present to you a new look to the forums with plenty of new features. Take a look around and see what you think!
If you sign on for Further Service it is.

Never heard of it being cancelled otherwise.

Congrats on your impending 'escape'... both of you? :PDT_Xtremez_14:
As far as I remember Terminal Leave is 'authorised' at a higher level than local/station management and it would take something like the Ruskies (or whoever nowadays) to be coming over the Channel for your TL to be cancelled.

Re: Terminal Leave cancellation

It can be cancelled for number of reasons, none of which are normally through your line manager. Examples would be disciplinary matters outstanding, medical discharge awarded during your last few weeks, all out war and as Mutty said further service. There are probably a few others but it should never be done lightly.

Not forgetting of course that they would have to find you to be able to tell you..........:D

I work with a couple of ATM JTs who are both out this year. Both have been pinged for our recently created Afghan list, with the result that one (at least) has had to reshuffle resettlement and terminal leave. He was told that if there wasn't time for all his leave, his leaving date would be extended until he had it all!
The answer was that it is an "operational requirement" for him to deploy, and he could be deployed until his very last day, leave/courses or not.

Feck taking any chances I'm not gonna answer the door for a while. Mind you beard and halo of spliff should put them off for a bit.

Happy days

If they'd PVRd this might be the case, the extension, however, terminal leave should always be your last 20 working days. Have they had a chat with their local admin support?

Whilst it is an operational requirement for a Jnr Tech to be in that post at that time it would be down to bad planning to send someone in that situation. Handling Leave for personnel on FU deployments is down to local management however they cannot go against the JSPs.

The courses can be shuffled around as Jnr Techs don't normally exceed the 16 year point where resettlement becomes an entitlement.
