Have just got in and have been watching the usual Sky Sports ticker going round and round. I find it pretty disappointing that as soon as there is a little bit of trouble at a match involving an English team the finger is out pointing at us! I accept that there has been instances when a minority of fans have let us down but for a UEFA/FIFA representative to instantly blame the English fans and not proportion the blame until it is cleared up is not acceptable.
Granted, there were more English fans there last night. Where were the extra(professional) police to deal with the situation? It seems acceptable for other countries staging such contests to put on a shoddy display of policing the event. Lets remember the number of times the Italian cops have dished it out to our fans over the years, not to forget the stabbings etc in Turkey! When will these other countries be held accountable, not only for their p*ss poor policing but also their hooligans as well!

Rant over!

I heard Michael Howard (Former Tory leader) say today that the game shouldn't have been held at that venue. He said there weren't enough police on duty, and that it was not normally used as a football stadium!!

It's a disgrace! We accepted we had problems and we have actively set up programs to deal with hooliganism, racism etc etc.
I can think of many occasions when English fans have supposedly created all the trouble, such as:
1. Man Utd v Lille - this year
2. Galatasaray v Leeds - 2 Fans killed if I remember right, what punishment was dished out
?
3. Porto v Man Utd - few years back
4. Roma v Man Utd - this year
5. Sevilla v Tottenham - this year
6. Spain v England - few years back - wasn't trouble with English fans but with racism.

I feel UEFA/FIFA need to get off their a**e and fcuking do something about these other so called 'better behaved' countries.

So by that reasoning, if I go out now and start keying cars then it's actually the fault of the police because there weren't enough of them on duty?

The chimps were mugging each other FFS! What happened outside with the fans being gassed was unforgivable, but as a nation we don't exactly do ourselves any favours do we?

Dont think teh fans behaved perfetly. But there was no mass arrests. People brased off, spending fortunes on genuine tickets, flihts etc then not getting in t the ground becasue some people have got in with UEFA leaflets! total joke on the organisers, stewards, police.Shame about the fiasco with so many fans getting in with fake tickets.

The police on the continent seem unable to handle these events at all well!!!!!! Rangers vs Osasuan, Man Untd vs Lille and Man untd vs roma all suffered because of bad stewarding and ill trained, panicking, riot geared police!!! Totally heavy handed. they are on crap pay and poorly trained!!!!

The Uefa reports all confirm this was the case in all of the above entioned games. i think the same will come out this time.

Stadium way too samll for a CL final. No way that was going to be big enough to meet demand. no stadium wood be but final should be in a proper football stadium with 80,000 seats, Madrid, Barcelona, London, Manchester, Glasgow, Munich etc etc
