As a music addict, I particularly like it when people post youtube vids on the forum with good music links, I find myself listening to songs that i've not heard for years, and others that I may never have heard before in my life.

So I thought I would ask, what are your 3 favourite songs of all time?
Here's mine to get the ball rolling.

War Pigs - The best song ever!

Wish You Were Here - By the best band ever

The Trooper - Heavy Metal at it's best

I'll be interested to see what other people select.

OK well this is where my totally random taste in music comes to the fore!

My favoutite song ever and the one my youngest son was born to

my next choice totally different and yes very girlie

third choice was a bit more difficult but here it is

1. Rush - 2112 (The greatest album ever recorded)
2. Dream theater - Learning to live. (They're superb at the longer song. This one is 11:30
3. Pink Floyd - Comfortably numb. (greatest solo of the 20th century)

MM, "The trooper" is good but "Hallowed be thy name" is better !!

Shame that SB, because the top one is a favourite of your's and Mad Collies's

Possibly the most beautiful song ever recorded

Iconic song of its time

Probably best live act these days (along with Radiohead)

... I could have put about a dozen on here without thinking....

:raf:

I make no excuses for the length of these two, but these are my two favorite tunes of all time. I would have posted Metallica's Nothing Else Matters, but in comparison these two are far better.

Firstly, Dave Gilmour of Pink Floyd doing "Shine On You Crazy Diamond".

Secondly, Stevie Ray Vaughan doing Jimi Hendrix's "Little Wing". Yngwie, Vai, Satriani, etc, etc, might have been able to shred a solo, but nothing beats having someones soul flowing through a fretboard. Sometimes a single note is worth more than playing 32 in the same time.

REM - Nightswimming

Keane - Bedshaped

Rob Dougan - Clubbed To Death

I could go on but my choices are possibly a bit young

Guess when you become old and grey you hanker for times gone by.
Here's my pick - I was there in '85 and guess it's probably the best gig I have ever been to...... or ever will . TAC

You utter barsteward, I hate you I hate you I hate you, I hate all the people who were old enough to go see them in concert, I was deemed too young by my parents to go and see them live, and they stopped touring in 86.

Got to agree with you LQ, I was 4 when Tacan went, my parents weren't really fans either ::P:

Haunting song by an amazing band:

Modern(ish) Classic!

And the unforgettable (but obvious crowd-pleaser!)

Never mind LQ - a gig to remember - even tho' you missed it - and yes, it was fabulous, cracking even. :PDT_Xtremez_31:

ps - I was probably one of the oldest there - well it felt like it anyway :PDT_Xtremez_09:
