Following an unbelievably daft bit of cleaning, I damaged the SATA connector on a 160GB drive. After a bit of messing about with sealants, adhesives, bodge tape and so on, I got the machine to work, but it was not a good fixe. Enough to dump most, if not all, of the criectory structure onto an old spare drive, but not a 'good' fix.

So I now have a shiny new 320GB drive.

1.
The BIOS knows it's there.
Device Manager knows it's there.
Win XP pro doesn't.

How do I format the bl00dy thng ?

2.
Is it possible to transfer all the data to the new drive and get Win XP to see it all ?
