Today for the first time in history the mighty Accrington Stanley made the playoffs. As a league founder member club who's history goes back further than Walton Heath and who's money problems are well documented it 's a real milestone. With a transfer budget of approx zero and no money to pay wages for the last 6 weeks the manager Mr John Coleman has once again performed miracles. As the longest serving ENGLISH manager in the league he has always managed to either improve our league position or get us promoted in every single year of his long and distinguished tenure. Get in. To dream for a minute if promotion happens Stanley play both Sheffield clubs and PNE in league fixtures not some David and Goliath cup match. Mr Coleman well done sir.:PDT_Xtremez_30:

A day out at Wemberlee awaits the mighty Stanley.
A day out we're still waiting for...maybe next season (or the one after that...) :PDT_Xtremez_26:

Well done to the Mighty Stanley Tb, at least somebodies team is doing well, Agent Bruce is doing a great job in his drive to put Sunderland into the Championship, at this rate we will end up doing a Leeds. I wish our American owner would show some b@ll@xs and get rid of him and bring in Martin o'Neil.

You want to try being an Oldham Athletic fan!:PDT_Xtremez_42:

If Capt Slog gets any more depressed he might be prepared to give it a go at least Oldham have some strikers.

We nearly had a whole team of strikers last week... they were on the verge of 'Going on Strike' if they didn't get paid!

Its a bit rubbish when you consider that the wages bill at 'Latics is probably less money than what Rooney and his kind are on.

It would be interesting to see what would happen if someone like Rooney was to 'Buy' (or purchase a controlling amount of shares) in a lower league club as a play thing!:PDT_Xtremez_30:

Well the mighty Stanley have just played the first leg of the play offs against Stevenage Borough and lost 2-0. We were poor, out muscled by their forward line in defence and destined to run around lots but aimlessly in midfield. We had a golden chance in the second half 2 v 1 with only the keeper between two forwards and the score sheet. We managed somehow to miss. Unless John Coleman can perform a small miracle we are doomed to spend another year in league 2. But am I downhearted not a chance we can rise to the challenge and stuff the boro 3-0 at home can't we? course we can:PDT_Xtremez_30:

Didn't I hear on R5 last week from one of your strikers that the pitch was better suited to WW1 style trench warfare than L1 football?

There is rumour that there is less sand in the sahara than at Stanley but that may not be true. The Crown ground pitch is poor, those of a certain vintage may remember derby's old baseball ground with it's almost grassless yet always churned up sandpit Stanleys pitch is similar.

Oh bollards on a pitch more suited to WW1 rather than league 1 Stanley didn't do the deed. We had two players sent off in the last 20 minutes and although we tried hard it was like the big bad wolf against the brick house all huff 'n puff but no end result. Gutted totally gutted they weren't better just smarter at the tricks and subterfuge of the modern footballer. I know their blokes didn't go down because they were shot by the sniper in the stands, as we have no stands for snipers to hide in but down they went never the less. Jacobson's sending off for a bad tackle was probably legit but the other sending for a girly bitch slap was not on, the Stevenage geezer went down like he had been tapped on the skull by a 2lb ball pein hammer the jessie. Cm'on Torquay.
