Following on from the threads asking those to praise and share the songs they think are the greatest ever, I would like to take the opportunity to slag off an entire genre.

Chav happy, Nova driving, McDonalds eating, backward cap wearing, bling obsessed, lyric hating, X Factor loving, talentless, cnuts.

This 'Clubland' sh1t is truly the lowest of the low.
Anyone who enjoys it is quite frankly a tone deaf retard with the musical taste of a cockroach.
:PDT_Xtremez_32:

Mods please feel free to move this elsewhere as I may (unintentionally) have overstepped the intended boundaries of this forum.
I may also feel the need to cut loose on any tw@t who attempts to defend this musical 'genre'
[/rant off]

I will defend some of this genre, however there are certain parts of it I'd love to see fall off the face of this planet....

Happy Hardcore for a start. What the f*ck is this!!! As an example of it, here's a youtube video of a "pro" laying down some noise.

FFS, if listening to that swedish pop duo wasn't quite painful enough, someone thought it could be improved by mixing it?

Please dont watch all of this, it may make you do a little bit of sick in your mouth!

You were warned!

Thing is with electronic based music is the AMOUNT of pigeon holes that are out there for it.

In my producing days, lets say for instance that I put up something in Drum and Bass. Now as subgenres of that is Ambient, Darkstep, Drill'n'bass, Breakcore, Jump up, Jungle, Techstep....

For house music (which most dance stuff is in esscence) you have.... Filtered House, Hard House, Acid House, Disco House, Progressive House, Vocal House, etc, etc, etc, etc....

If you got it in the wrong pigeon hole then all hell broke loose!

So is it dance music in it's entirety or is it just a part of it?

It's sh1t is what it is, no offense meant of course.:PDT_Xtremez_05:

There's so f*cking much which is evilly wrong - anything on the Stock Aitken Waterman label, the wailing Minogues, any boy bands, any girl bands; bloody hell I'd run out of ammunition....

I'll tell you what the worst songs ever are:

The crappy christmas singles produced from the X Factor. (Rhydian should have won that, a blatant fix by the X Factor production team for mouldable little pretty boy Leon. Pah, rubbish!)

Anything from those to$$ers Wastelife, sorry, Westlife I meant!

Celibe Dion warbling away like a feckin banshee.

Just about anything played on Radio One after 10pm.

What ^^^^ Seymour said plus anything by the fookin Spice tw@ts and ALL, with no exceptions at all, ALL bloody boy bands ! :PDT_Xtremez_25:

Oh and the Sh1tehouse family, on melody for a whole album....

And one person I hate almost as much as Seymour hates the Minge sisters...... that useless Irish ****** Bono. He is so far up himself he should have disappeared by now.

Anything by The Streets. Absolute sh1te spouted by some mockney wideboy. 95% of it sounds like GCSE level poetry and the other 5% has been taken straight from the Big Book of Chav Cliches.

Also, the majority of dance "music". As Mono pointed out (the geek), there are so many sub-genres that I couldn't even begin to name all the ones I hate so I'll single out a few examples: anything by DJ Sammy, 90% of the playlist on Radio 1 on a Friday night, all of that Euro rubbish that the muppets buy when they get back from Ibiza and Benidorm.

This quote from some muppet posting on the link Mono put up sums up why I hate dance music:

There's probably more, but the red mist was upon me!

Not all dance is rubbish though, I like the stuff with a bit of substance and depth like The Prodigy and Fatboy Slim. I'm also loving the new track by Pendulum, but thats probably because if you replaced the synths with guitars, you've got a blinding rock track in there somewhere!

Oh yeah, one last thing that grips me: when did the DJ become the star and the vocalist become a footnote?

OK....rant mode on...

My list of devil-spawn songs:

Lady In Red - Chris D.B

Wonderful Tonight - Eric Crapton (kill me now)

What's Up? - 4 Non Talents (what's up? you're toss, thats what)

Song Bird - Oasis. sounds like it was written by a 2 yr old.

Angels - Guy Chambers (note I credited the actual writer not the cnut who turned it into the anthem for those who buy CD's in Tescos.)

Foundations - Kate Nash NO NO NO NO NO NO !!!!!

Free Bird/Stairway To Heaven/Hey Joe - What we fought the punk wars to eradicate.

You're Beautiful - James Blunt. Where's my fcuking gun?
