Reynolds Bar eh, those were the days.

Whats the score with what was Reynolds? Last time I was in Stafford there appeared to be a lap dancing bar in the old Reynolds basement and not a lot else.

What is the alternative is Stafford now days?

Excellent night out, any Thursday and some Wednesdays. They used to do live gigs on a Wednesday upstairs, 80's bands like China Crisis and Johnny hates Jazz etc, top nights. I went to see Screamin' Lord Sutch in the Grapes one night, he was deid a few weeks later! Hell of an act to follow! Nowadays its into Wetherspoons (we got slung out of there not long back for enjoying ourselves too much! Seriously the manager in the monkey suit came and asked us to keep the noise down, we were just playing a game with the CCTV thats all!) Anyway, then it's into Chicago Rock across the road, thats OK actually good mix of music and free iced water to help combat the hangover!

I haven't been back for a couple of years, but it is now all Chicago Rock and Zanzibar (old top of the world I think).
I don't think the Bird in Hand (Les Ferdinand) is the wing haunt anymore, or the Bear?
I'm sure there are many a bar to be frequented during the 35th :PDT_Xtremez_30:

D

We'll have to see how it goes then.

Back up to 'the wing' (thumps right clenched fist to chest) soon for a course.

Grrrr, give me those Griffins.:PDT_Xtremez_31:

For a top night out in Stafford try the following...

Lord Nelson opposite the cop shop...quad vodkas & red bull £4 a pop,

then...

Black Swan Hotel, well expensive drinks but loads of eye-candy for dirty old men (you'd love it Stax).

then...

Wetherspoons for cheap as chips scoops with all the Stafford chavs.

then you have a choice...

Chicago Rock for loads of old slappers (ask a cockney welsh MTD JNCO for intros) & the most extortionate drink prices ever

or...

The Grapes for good music & quite possibly the ugliest women I've ever seen all in one place together.

Zanzibar? Don't bother, I always feel like Gary Glitter in there.

Old Reynolds Bar. Cellar Bar is now a lap dancing club, don't know what it's like never been in (honest) and middle floor is now Chill, an over 25's club/bar/jazz club thing...nice!

Les Ferdinand not frequented by Wing Mongs anymore apart from the Shadow (Sir now)...still!

Nags Head on Mill Street now called Vision, backs to the wall lads it's Stafford's first gay bar, gay bar, gay bar, oww!

He pulls the pin out of the grenade.........

Wasn't "Choppers" the first gay bar in Stafford?

throws it through the open window, and runs like hell.

I thought it was 'Satchmos' that sort of evolved into Stafford's first gay bar.

Really? I never noticed that when I frequented that bar?!?:PDT_Xtremez_08:
It's full of hard core divorced dad drinkers & weed smoking students now.

Apparently upstairs was the place to be if you stalked the Bourneville Boulevard.

I had many a lock in night at Satchmo's....

....maybe I shouldn't have mentioned that?

I was nobbing the barmaid, and my mate nobbing the manageress at the time....phew! :PDT_Xtremez_19:

...but I did hear it turned into an uphill gardeners club!

Always thought you blanket stacking types were batting for the other side

Baboom - grenade just went off!!!

Back on track, Staffords not a bad night out, but as the number of living in personnell dwindle to about 50 now, theres no real wing mong presence in most of the bars, except for Nelsons for the quad vods at the beginnning of the night :)
