Due to the poor state of our tool store and a SNCO tool store who has been sick/lame/OOA for ages I've decided to try and tackle it.

Does anyone know of a catalogue of tools with NSN's? Either a physical one or a link to the on-line version. The tools that need most attention are all just basic hand tools, I'm not after aircraft specific tools/test equipment.

The stackers have told me I can order anything we need (within reason!) but they can't process demands without good numbers.

Has the old AP1086 been binned? :PDT_Xtremez_41: IIRC, section 1 in that always used to be the bible for just about anything as far as general tools went.

I remember in section 63C there used to be the number for a 4.5mm internal diameter rubber policeman - whatever one of those is. (Don't tell me, I just Googled it. :PDT_Xtremez_14: )

Yes, there is a CD-ROM available which contains everything from hand tools to gardening equipment. I can't remember what it was called, but I've used it in the past when sorting out a Tool Stores that had been neglected by the inventory holder. It was handed to me by my LEAN team. However, I'd think that asking SCAF might be a good start, but I'm not a stacker... what do I know!:PDT_Xtremez_30:

There is a Hand Tools IPT (or whatever it's called this week) if you can find them they may be of use.

If you can't find a copy of the CD-ROM (or they won't let you have one...:PDT_Xtremez_32:... ) PM me a list of tools that you're interested in as our current tools i/c has a quite extensive listing of tools and their numbers!

Oh, Odie, the FAP 1086 hasn't been used for years so it will be way out of date now... but I think we still have a copy somewhere!:PDT_Xtremez_30:
