Can you transfer to other armed forces officially, or is it a case of leaving the RAF and applying/hoping to get into the other force?

Anyone any experience? If so, who did they transfer to?

To transfer you need to leave the one force and apply to join the other.
I think Shoutingwind is the last person here to have gone through the process.

I know the Aussies and the Kiwis had an arrangement with PMA whereby you were accepted into either RNZAF or RAAF and PMA negotiated a date to release you, thus alleviating the risk of leaving a secure job on the hope of being accepted. The Canadians have no such agreement and you have to leave the RAF to join their equivalent.

I regularly submit Expressions of Interest with the Aussies, I got a reply last week saying their doors were closed for Overseas applicants, although I was free to apply to move there as a skilled worker, apply for citizenship etc and then apply for RAAF. Last I heard the Kiwis was a similar situation.

I can't speak for any other defence forces but hope that helps.

There are some Colonel slots open in the Confederate Air Force. The pay is rubbish but you get a moustache.
