TV as a Monitor??

Just wondered if anyone could shine any light on whether i can us my hdtv as a monitor for my PC, it appears to have the correct port (RGB IN (PC/DTV)) but is it just as simple as plugging it in and away I go? I will need to buy a new cable so being a tight jock Id like to know before wasting my pennies! cheers!

If it has the same connector as the monitor then it is just as simple as plug in and play, you will need to change your setting for the monitor/tv
