This is a follow on from a previous post which was answered (cheers gents).

Say hypothetically I passed out as Intell. Analyst, I was under the impression that generally the day would be a 9-5 Mon Fri affair....call me naieve but I hear this isn't the case?

9 O'clock start?? you planning on having a lay in are you?
The normal working day is 8-5, but that is depending on where you are and what you do. Don't bank on it - thats the easiest way.

LOL fair one mate.

Are you "thinned" out on the weekend then?

I refer you to my previous post.

Some jobs require you to be there Mon - Fri 8-5, some jobs are shift work, As I said - its all down to where you are and what job you do.

Not the normal 9-5

Not the normal 9-5

It's hard to say what hours you'll be working, if you are a daisy you'll tend to do 8 - 5 Mon - Fri with the odd bit of duty bod which might mean early starts/late finished and be on call at weekends. If your section is 24/7 manned then you could do a variety of shifts, the more common one I've come across would be 2 days, 2 nights then 4 off. You could also be in a section that covers the flying programme, which will normally have a Early or Late shift to cover the working day.

At the end of the day you do what you have to do to get the job done, especially on Det. So if you're hoping for a day in day out 9-5 job then you might want to look elsewhere.
