Got grief about not wearing a tie with new v neck jumper!? Is this right anyone know.....???:PDT_Xtremez_42:

Dunno but in the past, when you wore a V Neck jumper, you had to wear a tie, so I suppose the same rule stands.

That's how I remember it V neck jumper + wedgewood blue shirt = tie.

The only exception I can think of was the old techie dark blue shirt which was never worn with a tie.

Have they done away with the old dark blue working shirt?.......thats a shame,as a young single liney i could get 10 days wear out of 1 shirt before washing,15 at a push.:PDT_Xtremez_42:

That's shocking, LOL, :PDT_Xtremez_42: but yeah, the techies were allowed to wear a dark blue shirt with the V neck jumper without a tie.

Not when they originally came into service,at Kinloss we were not allowed to wear the dark blue shirt with the V Neck so a lot of us went & bought round neck ones from surplus stores.

Eventually the rule was overturned,I gather because the stackers moaned over the amount of wedgewood blue shirts that were being exchanged...

V Neck Pully, waste of space shiney invention if ever there was one. It just goes to show it's a big wheel that goes round and round.

Pukka gen, new V neck without tie - it's in a clothing notice somewhere on the intranet.

Got to be true, my wobblie is sporting one!

You dont have to wear a tie with the new V-neck, its in the AP that tell's you what the dress states are. the caveat being that the shirt collar has to be over the V bit of the jumper as per the round neck. It's AP13 something and its in chap 2, I only know cause I got grief about it as well.

Having never seen the "new" v-neck is it exactly the same as the old one? I didn't mind the old ones but I can't stand the thick wooly ones.

Remember the last version of the V neck?

Well, (probably) whilst closing down a camp somewhere, out the back of clothing stores, they've found a container or 3 of them, and rather than donate them to Oxfam or the Army, they've decided to re-issue them again.

They started reappearing here in Buckinghamshire in early December.

Well in time with the stresses of SDSR and all the monetary pressures everywhere its good to see the RAF getting its priorities right and issuing new versions of uniform. What a completely pointless waste of cash, no doubt there will be a couple of promotions and an MBE come out of it for those involved. :PDT_Xtremez_32:

Hardly wore a jumper never mind a tie, we'll once a year on AOC's or unless required to for a Station photgraph.
