These people were helpful when I sorted Mullah seniors 'cold war and before' collection. He wanted them in a frame, so easily done with new ribbons as necessary. I helpfully retained the old ribbons and an appropriately sized brooch in case of change of mind.

I will wager the percentage of veterans losing their medals is nowhere near the percentage of British Citizens losing their passport. However take comfort that the passport is not replaced for free and if they lose 3 in 10 years, they only get a 1yr one at full price, before having to pay again 12 months later for a 10 year one.

We refer to it as "the stupid tax"
