Hi,

Are there any 'official' entitlements prior to posting, such as MT for doing a station visit, or for marching-in prior to posting ?

Don't fancy thrashing my car for the 800+ miles round trip, then doing it all again a week or 2 later !
:)

Cheers

Gray

Last time I was posted I was told by PSF that I could claim to hire a van to move my kit (up to a limit which I don't recall). I haven't seen anything in writing though so it's worth checking with your local shineys.

Failing that you can box up any excess kit and send it via your happy, friendly* stackers in R&D, although I'd make sure you have kit insurance if you do so.

*they may not be happy or friendly at all.

What has that got to do with a pre-posting visit?

Best course of action is to use some of your disturbance allowance to pay for a hirecar for a couple of days. Speak with the lads in MT and see if they have any good local deals with hire companies. When I was north of the border we had some great contacts locally, and some excellent free upgrades were possible.

Of course you can claim MMA for a one way journey when you finally move which'll be a few extra sheckles on top of your disturbance, not forgetting your meals en route!

Hope thats a bit more helpful!
