Hi Folks,

Just looking for answers to this question. As many of you will know Manning advertise postings on their website and ask for volunteers. How do they go about choosing a person for the role? Is there some sort of ranking system? Also how long does it take for manning to inform you if you'd been successful or not if you volunteered?

I've seen a couple of thing's that interest me and thinking about putting my name forward so any help will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

Pick up the phone and ask them. It's not a career question per se. They'll tell you exactly how it works better than this forum might.

Are you talking about a particular trade post or an 'Any' trade post like AFCO & RTS? The selection can be decided by interview as required or best person for the job based on your SJAR's/career profile etc as decided by the CM. If you let me know what particular job you're interested in I can provide more advice.

Overseas slots are normally decided on the basis of when your last overseas tour was or your date of attestation. Whichever was the longest ago.

Humble Scribe

It's a AC techie slot in Cyprus.

Thanks for the help/advice.

You just need to register an interest to the CM through your own CoC and come the end of the trawl the CM will ascertain who is due the position based on earliest attestation date or last overseas tour (assignment rather than OOA). The CM will then ask the individual to complete the overseas service annex from the AP and providing all is well (discip/medical etc) then off he/she goes to Cyprus.
