They are out with the begging bowl again I see. I'm surprised that they didn't plan for this eventuality....

"Slimmed down to 8 from 22 staff"

Slimmed down??

BBMF has 35 staff..... and 12 aircraft.

Have the Vulcan To The Sky Team ever planned for the future. The whole refurb was carried out in a last minute.com manner with veiled threats that the whole setup would collapse by "Friday" if £500k was not raised etc. Didn'rt Sir Jack Hayward of Wolverhampton Wanderers fame bail them out at the last minute. A look at some of the salaries and staff numbers may suggest that this jolly jaunt under the guise of a charity is paying out some serious salaries to more than a few individuals.

I'm quite surprised to hear they had 22 full time staff (plus part time) to manage an aircraft which stopped flying over a year ago.

Does anyone know any idea of the size of salaries we're talking about?

Averages out to about 37 grand PP in 2009

However, check the company website and you get 404 now.

I appreciate that the salary bill may be relatively small compared to the overall costs - but it sounds like it's still a significant sum.

If that's the average of the 22 salaries, that either suggests a few people were on popstar money, or the majority were on a very reasonable sum. I don't deny the benefit of a full-time staff compared to part-time volunteers, but that still seems like quite a lot for an aircraft which stopped flying over a year ago.
