Oop's seems someone made have fecked up at what was once RAF What a shambles.

"The Army Air Corps helicopter is believed to have fired the 'negligent discharge' as trainees prepared for a training session at Wattisham Flying Station,"

"In the Army a “negligent discharge” is considered a serious offence and leads to disciplinary action"

Not so much a Negligent Discharge as no one was in the helicopter, more an Accidental Discharge in my humble opinion.
Although the question needs to be asked in why rounds were loaded. Do the AAC not follow 'Initially Armed' / 'Finally Armed' procedures?

See if this stays in the news!!

Remember that Court Martial about Bovington I think it was where 2 Officers had a Flare Gun duel and set the accommodatioon alight (which had the water supply to the hose pipes switched off due to legionella)?? That disappeared.

If the person responsible is in a "clique" then they will be protected to the nth degree while a witch hunt will ensue to pin it on someone else or blame the process!!

I have quite a bit of respect for the AAC after working closely with them in the 'Ghan' but, they are a bunch of slack b'stards when it comes to weapon drills. It must be a Brown Job syndrome, eg, "we is Army and know all about guns 'n stuff" etc.

The Army are big on regulations and drills, but slacker than Jordan's fanny when it comes to procedures.

A can do, have done attitude does not necessarily mean a "we've done it correctly in accordance with" attitude.

Mirror said the aircraft was being towed with no crew members on board, is that normal for Apache. Where's the brake man?

Unless there was no brake packs fitted, negating the need for a brakeman (playing hangar pilot) but requiring chock walkers....I'm sure their CAMO are busy forming quite a question bank!

Not a plumber but ......... Surely even if "unintentionally" a hot round comes hurtling out of the open end of the weapon someone somewhere fecked up.
