Just been sorting out my mountain of uniform and I want to bin a lot of it...

Can anybody advise chapter and verse what needs to be handed back in on demob and what I can bin...

And before any smart alec says anything I'm not planning on ebaying it:rolleyes:

Helpfully they have already told me that they won't take anything back until clearing to leave the mob and wouldn't tell me what I would need to hand back...

Thats why I'm going to bin some stuff..

All they wanted from me was my webbing, helmet and respirator. The rest I have either kept or given away to the charity that is called my former colleagues at work.....

I wouldn't throw anything just yet, as you might get a Stacker who want's everything back.

Throw the stuff they don't want afterwards.

I took EVERYTHING..........they wanted virtually NOTHING.........so and I know you didn't want this answer, I ebayed it, made a enough beer money for a few weeks...............then when i joined the T.A 2 years later i wished I had kept some of it...

Speak to clothing stores, as it depends on what mood they are in!!
Was very much the case at ISL stores... I just threw 'em everything bar a few items (hi leg boots, overalls, 6 million pairs of socks, 25-year old beret) but I coulda kept loads of kit - didn't think of the Ebay option tho, DOH!.

DPM trousers and shirts are good when cleaning the Car - add boots and you have your Gardening outfit.

Personally, I'd be tempted to hand in the barest of requirement.
There may be a Spacy Squadron near you who might use some kit.

In the our current state shouldn't that be.

I'll be quite annoyed when I leave if they want loads back I've been trying to empty the two tri walls of old KD etc for ages but stores keep saying you might need it and if you've handed it back we'll have to get you re tailored for new stuff. If I ever fit hat KD from when I was 21 without re tailoring It'll be more unbeleivable and fantasy than a Gordon Brown budget.

as I recall a week before i left i went down the clothing stores and had a perusal of my clothing card... turns out all they wanted back was my best blue and SD Hat, foul weather kit and of course respirator

I managed to find a buyer for my greatcoat. One of the best bits of kit i'd ever been issued. The rest of the stuff i gave away.

Always gets me that one :PDT_Xtremez_31: They reckon it can go back for servicing and disinfection as per the instructions. I used to do this and sent them back to Biscter who didn't want them as they were not as new! Other instructions say they are not to be re-issued (skin 2 skin etc). Amusing........ and a complete waste of time
