Hi, I was med discharged under QR 607(14) about 7 years ago with a back injury. Since then I`ve got myself on a med degree and am looking at whether it`s feasible to re-enlist as a med officer after graduating (assuming I have the brainpower to get through). Anyone know what 607(14) means with regard to this? Careers office didnt have a scooby

I too was med'd out the same way and a couple of years ago I looked at getting back in. I was pushed towards the Occupational Health bods at Cranwell. After a couple of phonecalls I was asked to get letters from my GP, the Surgeon and Physio that looked at me 2 years previously. The letters were to state that I had not suffered any relapses to my knee injury and that any further service would not cause any more damage to me and I would be able to pass the RAFFT. I managed to get these letters and was asked to attend Cranwell to see the OH and some bigwig Doc. I didn't go through with it as I landed a cushy job with no DWR's.

I'm sure some of the other users would be able to post a contact number on here.

Thanks for the reply. Spent ages trying to figure it without access to 3392, I know that QR607(15-22) are med and I think 11 (or 10) is compassionate but 607(14) was a real head scratcher! Thought I'd better know my stuff before I asked the scribblies. Pretty sure I can get the Certs from the doc and got 4 years of degree to get through yet so there's time. Glad you found a decent job, life on the outside has been no bed of roses work wise.

Can't confirm, but I think the QR in question may be 'free as an indulgence' following a permanent down grading. It's where you are given the opportunity to leave based on you medical condition, but not classed as med discharge.

Yeah clungemobile, my bad- too many big thick scary books to get my head round!

My shiney arse- that seems most likely, I have to admit I had no idea the whole thing was so complex, at the time I would have struggled to find my own backside with a gps.

Must have been a re-write since you left - 607(14) is currently "On appointment to a Commission"

The free as an indulgence is 607(10).

Definitely says 607(14) on the discharge docs, checked it again after your post
