And you have been here less than six months??

I took a posting as it was close to my own house which meant i could commute everyday.

However , the place is ****e, i mean real rubbish and not very tasking at all.

I came here from somewhere i was quite busy and cant get used to doing not much.

Plus working with civillians and the Army is doing my head in.

Im starting to get really stressed about it and feel it was a big mistake career wise coming here.

i have been here less than 6 months so im not sure what options are avalible to me.

any ideas

cheers

renton

9mm in the station armoury, but do it in the shower area it is easier to clean up:raf:

Renton your options don't look too good at the moment. Cpls and below need to do one year in post before being allowed to apply for a move. However, have you thought about TSW? They are always looking for volunteers. Bear in mind though that this is a 5 year tour so if you don't like it there - your screw*d.

You currently have posts for lack of promotion, this sh*te tour and srew*d pay - I wouldn't like to be you!

Get yourself a 24 hour posting .....if things are that grim.
Hell you only live once.:PDT_Xtremez_14:

That doesn't happen any more.......

Best thing you could do is talk to your line management. With Project Apollo now on us, things are returning to speaking to your bosses instead of direct to drafter... There may be a possibility of moving around station into a new post, but you'd have to get your bosses and those of where you want to go on side to back it up.

mono, there are only 10 armourers here and the rest of the camp is either civvie or army!! so not much chance of a move around the camp.

my boss(chief tech) has said to people that are here not to stay to long as its crap.

what about an exchange with someone??

can i do this or do i still have to do a year or so in post??

You can exchange at any point as long as you and your exchangee's bosses are happy to cover any deficiencies till you both get trained/Q'd up in your new jobs.

The only difference time in post will make to your exchange is you will have to pay your own removals and you won't get disturbance, a small price to pay to get out of a job you don't want and into one you do.

Now you just need to sell your job to somebody.

ha ha i wouldnt wish this job on anyone to be honest!!!

You're not very good at selling the job are you, how do expect to get an exchange posting now? - you've effectively shot yourself in the foot there Renton.

i know what your saying fomz , but if people on here are reading about how **** i think the place is they are hardly going to be throwing them selves at an exchange with me are they!!

I managed to talk somebody into an exchange out of 8 Sqn EROS at saints...I worked in inspection which included the blade bay...This was known as the graveyard for sumpies but with some advertising and straight talking (I talked the welsh lad who was at Lossie at the time into believing that this could be his only chance of getting back to Wales since he was at the unpopular posting of ISL so far North) I managed to find somebody in short order...There was no cost to the RAF and little disturbance as I was off to a VASS which to be honest a strategically shaved chimpanzee could carry off with a mornings training and he was coming down to polish blades and bend the tricky looking ones beyond limits (alledgedly)...

As FOMz says...try selling it rather than talking it down...one mans meat is another mans murder...whatever the f*ck that means...

You do of course have another, much more difficult choice - you could consider leaving the Service if it has become totally unbearable. Drastic I know, but a choice nonetheless.

this is the last thing on my mind!!!

im 11 years into my 22 and have enjoyed every posting i have had prior to this one .

i know now it was a big mistake to take a post just because its close to my own house !!!

But im starting to take the stresses and boredom of work home with me which is the one thing i didnt want to do.

my last post was as one of the armourers on vahs at akrotiri and we were always quite busy and had some responsibility.

now here its a complete u turn , very quiet and not much on.

it would suit someone from the area who is due out soon to be honest!!

We had a Sneck in Missile city at Wattasham used to fill his days making clocks. I only lasted in the dump 2 months before getting moved on to a Sqdn thank god, the boredom was killing me.
