I'm after a couple of tracks for my creative zen mp3 player. Where is best to download songs legally. I only want a couple of tracks not whole albums.

Small Reminder.....

Small Reminder.....

Purchasing MP3's from the net is legal, sharing MP3's between people is not. Discussion of such is also against E-Goats site rules and regs (THIS THREAD right at the bottom labelled COPYRIGHTED MATERIAL)

Feel free to recommend sites to use though.

there are lots of sites apart from i tunes where you can pay to legally download mp3's on the web it's just a case of finding them

Point taken, itunes then I guess, hmv?

After ferreting about for simply ages trying to find some (classical) music, I came to the conclusion that iTunes is not worth it unless all you want is some modern cr*p.

I never said it was perfect ::P: but it does have a lot on it. HMV I'm sure would have a lot of the older stuff, maybe, haven't looked.

Surprised no ones mention Napster. I Have napster Light, gives access to millions of tunes plus can get a 30 sec taster (its free) most tracks cost about 79p to down load an album its cheaper. Worth a look

I thought it got closed down, didn't realise it was still going.

I believe Napster were originally operating illegally , hence the shut down.
Napster now have made themselves into a proper legit store.

I use HMV quite a bit and MrsM uses Tesco's. Virgin did it for a while but I think they stopped for some reason.
I like HMV for the clickable previews on the tracks.

There are a variety of sites that do mp3 download, just be careful because although you pay for them they arent all legal in this country.

Which Zen did you get. I have a VisionM and find it to be damned good! I'm working my way through my cd collection and ripping em all to mp3 and then chucking em on my player. Man its taking ages!!!!

It's not a new one, a 20gig zen touch. Quite bulky by todays standards.
