Why does my MacBook go to sleep if I put my Blackberry on it?

The music pauses and everything goes black?!? REALLY ANNOYING!!!

Any ideas?

It is NOT synced and it happens when I put the 'phone on the left hand side.

Random guess.

Your Blackberry has something magnetic in it somewhere and you are putting on the magnetic switch which activates if you close the lid. The MacBook then thinks the lid is closed so it goes into sleep.
