There is a time limit for citizenship aquisition, be it 2, 3 or 5 years depending on circumstances. I would argue that most have taken the time to learn English and just how many of our expats have learnt the language of their new employers?? Should every Englishman not learning the language be sacked??

I assume you mean Brit rather than English and yes any Brit emigrating should learn the language,obey the laws,pay their taxes and take citizenship in his/hers adopted country or face deportation.

Those working abroad for a finite time should do all of the above minus the citizenship

This looks like it’s going off topic. The media jump on the story of 2 mums who where refused entry to a mother / child group setup to support immigrate mothers within the community. So question is a) Are we to rage at this group being taxpayer funded b) That it is only for foreigners (I will guess that the foreigners in question have already been accepted for citizenship) or c) Because it’s in the Sun and must be true.

As TMG pointed out this does not help with the integration of these mothers or their kids and also gives amunition to rags like the Scum to feed fears genuine or otherwise that certain sections of the population have.

Not forgeting that this will be a nice little earner for some namby pamby liberal type who is heading it up or possible heading up a larger initiative(sic)of which this is just a part.

This thread grips my s**t aswell mate. I'm sick of liberalist champagne socialists defending actions such as this. Anyway you cut it this is rascism. This is a partially funded council project therefore it is wrong to stop British children attending. It justifies itself by using "intergration" as a buzzword but its the polar opposite. Until we wake up to this positive discrimination the country is going to continue to nosedive into the mire. Within a generation Britain will be unrecognisable. Someone in power needs to have the balls to pubilcy say things like this are wrong and have the backup of the press and media to defend the reasons why. Our culture and way of life is being eroded. Its these little things that help continue that erosion.

Some people need to wake up and smell the coffee. Most of us don't care what colour people are, what religeon or where their from. Just play by our rules, thats all we ask as a nation. If you don't like it feck off back to wherever.

I live abroad, I'm an ex-pat. I can speak the local language fairly well and learn something new everyday. I respect local customs and religeon and pay a lot into the local economy. I get on better with the locals than I do with the ex-pats. If I didn't like or want be a part of their way of life I'd come back to Britain. If I tried to set up a British only creche and asked for state funding I'd be laughed out of the room.

The fact is that they use taxpayers money to, partially, fund this. NOW, correct me if I am wrong but has it not just been said lately that any christian, religious type schools that bar kids of another denomination (catholics not allowing prods etc) will not only lose any state funding but may also be in contravention of various "yuman rites" issues? IOT allow these foreign women (and we don't know if they are Muslim, Eastern European or African) to integrate we need to mix them with natural born UK based women, and I include 2nd and 3rd generation Asians in that. Rather than putting them into, yet another, little Ghetto which does not allow them to become "British"

Or to put it another way just cause some agenda driven story pushes the buttons does not mean we all need to jump up and down.

But I do agree that it's wrong for this group to be put forward as an integration forum. I’m sure the authority in question could easily adapt a current run mothers group to include "isolated immigrate mothers" more cost effectively and with better results.

I don't care where the money comes from, be it the taxpayer, Joe Bloggs from up the street or the BNP.

If you were to set up a playgroup but specifically ban any child whose parent was not born in Britain then I am pretty sure you would have various action groups on your case and the outrage bus would be speeding up and down the country as fast as it could go.

How excluding British born people helps the children integrate into the British community I am not sure? More exclusionist crap which does nothing but drive a wedge between communities it is supposed to be integrating.

Odds on that nobody has asked the ladies that use the facility if they would actually like British born children to be involved. I would not be surprised if the people responsible for the policy are British themselves and have taken the decision because 'they know best'
