The draw for the group stage of the 2014 has been made with England being drawn in Group D alongside Uruguay, Costa Rica and Italy. The press are already calling it a "nightmare draw":

Pretty much any draw would have been a nightmare draw for England.

This groups a doddle playing Italy in 30 degrees+ and more than 90% humidity, Ballotelli sent off before 1/2 time, a comfortable 2-0 walk in the park win for Roy's boys. As to the other two nations it's not how we win, just how many we slam past them whilst winning in style. Group leaders then onto the round of 16, 1/4's, semis and an epic 4-3 final win over hosts Brazil, world football trembles at our awesomeness.

Meanwhile back in the real world we finish second in the group but don't make the 1/4's

Some excellent encounters there I think which should make for an exciting early tournament to watch. I don't believe you can look further than the hosts to win with maybe Germany as a second choice. But then, do the Spanish really have it in them to win another championship?
