Don't worry P&G,
I escaped from SH after 18 months of sniffing canvas!
It is possible, you just have to be willing to apply for everything. I got lucky and spent the following 5 years at RAF sleepy hollow (until they shut the bloody place!).
Whilst I was on SH the rumour mill would announce any plum applications that were coming up on the volunteers list. Keep your ear to the ground and try to keep smiling! Hence why half my shift ended up going to the US of A for the first C17 courses (way back when!).
