That depends on which trade you were. It's compulsory for ex TG11 to do the 5/6 weeks to bring you up to speed with the TG3 side. If your ex TG3 then something has went disasterously wrong and you should only do a 2 week course.

I'm ex TG3 and will do the 6 week course soon. it's got nothin do do with your trade, there is only a few 2 week courses run per year now, whether you get on one or not is down to pot luck as to the timing of the courses and your promotion.

my info there is wot i've been told up at cosford, and is by no means fact, but seems to make sense to me, last time I saw a 2 week TMT was in August.

I've been in the thick end of 10 years, did an ELM course at lockin '98 and a FT course at cosford in '02, I'm guessin that woz what your askin

There is a 2 week course starting at the end of April, unless its been cancelled without me knowing!

I've just been promoted to Cpl and given my TMT date, I realised that it's 6 weeks long!!! I checked to make sure I was given the correct dates and was informed that our TMT has changed from 2 weeks to 6 weeks. What the hell are we going to do for 6 weeks?

It seems we are on the same JMLC, you might remember some of my previous posts as user "yellowtechie". Not bothered posting since the big data loss but back again now. I have got TMT on the 14th Nov - 20th Dec so the one before yours. Will see you next Sunday I guess!!!

Just come back from TMT1, had a really good laugh. Could easily be shaved down to 3/4 weeks. Didn't visit GOSCC but wasn't too sad about that! Ended up doing the Cosford Airshow though, 14 hours in the sun i was looking like a lobster! Be prepared for alot of techie stuff that is totally above my head!

Good Luck for next week!!.... just remember ..... SMEAC (or I think they call is SMERLAC now!!) listen to everyone elses ideas and then claim the best one as your own!!.... that'll all make sense when you get there!! Enjoy as best you can.... you'll love some bits, no doubt hate others.... Just remember it's all a game, so that you get that tick in the box... and who knows? You may learn something too!
