Air Traffic Control Forum

  • Following weeks of work, the E-GOAT team are delighted to present to you a new look to the forums with plenty of new features. Take a look around and see what you think!
As you scopie types seem to have begged for this place. You don't seem to want to use it. So I'll do the honours and start you off so you can all talk about your greatest Air Traffic Control Stories.

To be honest,
This duplicate forum is a waste of space ... ;)

They dont have any Air Traffic control stories because they don't do it!

Damn you got on here before I could. Probably because I was having to do some work at the time - Shucks! ;)

Tried to with the new place. But for security / cost reasons 'they' decided to brick up the windows! Nice!

Maybe we don't use it because we are happy in our profession (Yeah right)!

There is not much to bitch about because:

1. We have learnt that nobody will take any notice/cares.

2. Most of the grumbles have already been thrashed out on PPrune.

If you really want bitching about Air Tragic then go over to the Ops Bods, they appear to have a crisis of immense proportions within, and for some strange reason blame Air Tragic for all their woes. Still, provides me with great entertainment as I watch them implode. :)

Back to me donut and coffee before the afternoon wave depart...

Always makes me laugh how non aircrew use PPRune!

Wannabes!

Since when have Air Tragic or whever else in the gravel munching trades ever been Professional Pilots? Mmmmm 1940's last time me thinks, unless you re-branched for some medical reason.

Welcome to your new home, you can leave the dead moths to talk to themselves now! This is your arena!

Now I thought Scopies were fighter controllers, not air traffic

I suspect that Magnum Magnum PI feels equally at home on this forum and not PPRuNe on the grounds that he can't even spell professional.

Magnum,
You seem to know so much about Pprune .... the forum entitled
Military Aircrew
A forum for the professionals who fly the non-civilian hardware, and the backroom boys and girls without whom nothing would leave the ground. Army, Navy and Airforces of the World, all equally welcome here.

sounds feasible to include air tragic n ops in that description, or in fact any ground trade .... remember its one big team

Whatever loser!

I bet you put all the flying kit that you've not returned after a pax ride on in the comfort of your own room and thrap off over Top Gun!
Nevermind, you can pretend on PPrune.

Yawn! :D

MM PI, for the sake of compliance with the Trades Description Act, please go away and lose the "Intelligence" tag. :o

I always preferred the term "Photographic Interpreter".

Doesn't it make you feel special to have a forum just for us Scopes? Then again, it appears most other TGs have forums too. This is my first post and I'm rather chuffed to have somewhere else to moan besides PPRuNe.

Happy posting everyone.

I think maybe the civvys would be even worse. Just think how difficult it is dealing with civvys who have the slightest hold over you (such as in some clothing stores etc). Hugely inflate the ego, and that will be a recipe for fireworks. Plus I don't think the MoD could afford the contract, as no doubt civvy controllers would want paying the earth plus 50 weeks a year paid holiday.
Maybe I'm just tooooooo cynical!

The real tragedy is that good old jack-of-all-trades scopies are once again being made to do air tragic work at Waddo on 54(R) Sqn Ops ... Goes to show how any monkey can do air tragic work! ;)

(I wonder how an AATC would fare as a WCA?!)

jack-of-all-trades scopies & monkey

DI, the two go together quite nicely and you said it! :)

DI

"good old jack-of-all-trades scopies " You know what they say; 'jack of all trades, master of...!' Your post also infers that your trade is staffed by monkeys - from personal experience of working with the muppets in TG 12 I wouldn't be at all surprised if you don't find yourself inundated with lawsuits from primates! As for 'AATC' faring as WCA - it wouldn't be the first time TG9 has baledout the scopies!
