Thanks, it certainly does. Got enough GCSE's, (think i may have do English again though!). Defiently somthing i need to look further into, be silly not to, who does'nt want to get on and earn more.

Thanks again.

Too many amateur pedants on here. The worst mistake above is the sacrilegious abuse of the apostrophe and other such rapine flouting of punctuation rules.

I considered a commish in the early 90s. I had a word with my JEngO, then I had a chat with OC Admin Wing then decided against it.

Reason being, I was looking at EngO with the Shrivenham degree so, what with training and the degree course and first tour between OT1 and OT2, it would have taken 7 years.

And that was 7 years I could have been having a laugh on the line, so I continued doing that instead...

:PDT_Xtremez_30:

Point is though, go and talk to the zobs about it instead of fannying around here...

Sorry to blow your theory out of the water mate, but having just interviewed a potential JO joining Cranwell, when questioned "so what do you think of the current situation in Afghanastan," they stated 'why? whats going on in Afghanastan?' Upon questioning the said individual as to exactly where they had been on the planet recently, the response came 'a chalet maid at a ski resort in Val de whatever'. Good to see OASC getting the top echelon through the doors these days.

Sorry Matey, I went through this thing and it was like this (maybe it's easier now - it always is it seems), and after all, the fellow asked for help - so let's help the chap and avoid the stereotypical invective, eh? Dont fall under rule 1.

Is there anyone going through this at the moment, Fingers crossed if you are. Question.... Does having a degree make the candidate more favourable ?????

I know a few people at AFCO's and whilst having a degree is beneficial, its only for certain branches. If you dont have a degree then it need not hinder your progress as certain branches have schemes whereby you can attain the necessary qualifications. Eng Branch now run the Basic Entry Scheme (BES) to get you qualified. That means a year at Cosford prior to IOT.
