The answer to not forking out your own cash for hotels and what not is to apply for a GPC...

It's been gripping my sh1t for a while now having to pay for hotels and not being in a position to claim them back for a couple of weeks...The other day I was 4 kilo's over for a Ryan air flight due to carrying all my flying kit plus personal...4 kilo's = £48 excess (robbing barstewards considering I had no hand luggage of which you are allowed 10kg's so in theory I was 6 kilo's in credit!) which took me over a week to claim back due to other work issues...

Trouble is I still can't find the form 'online' to apply for the bloody thing....

You're not wrong Vim, however they don't trust the average bod with one do they?

Imagine a system where someone works out a rate, based on a very clever man staying in the local area you are now forced to be.

Now get this, letting you spend it as if you were a grown man/woman who realises that if you sleep in a cardboard box & don't eat you'll die!

I know it's a radical concept but hey, blue sky thinking & all that!

I agree wholeheartedly there Vim but it's all down to who you work for. I work for an IPT and despite the fact that we regularly go out and about doing trials/testing/fault invest they will not let us have GPC cards. It would be nice but ho hum.

The system is sh1t and hotels should really be paid for the same way as flights etc.
