Please don't worry. Current health and safety regulations guard you from any nasties. In reply to most of the previous comments; I was a ground radar fitter for quite a few years and I've got 2 boys. Myth blown.

In the light of current knowledge Ping me old. I don't believe there have been any specific studies into this phenomenon. Myth blown?? On the basis of your 2 lads? I think not.

Cannot see how the Scopies would have been affected. Never saw many at the business end!

Its just a myth.

Agreed!

I have one lad and have worked on/with T91/92/93/94 T80/84/85 over a period of time followed by Searchwater. Although I do agree that a large proportion of guys do have girls....my tadpoles must be strong enough to withstand radiation!!!!!

Workshy!

Anyhoo there’s no smoke without fire. We wouldn't be talking about it if LOTS of people hadn't noticed something odd.

That's it, I am mortally hurt! All yous techy tw@ts ferk off into your own forum!

im not worried about it, i work at spade and have probably (like the tg3/4 lads) have stood in areas we really should'nt have while a kit was radiating, yet i've got a child on the way.

The only reason I wanted to know was that i'd been told by a few people and whilst in the pub we got on subject of being radiated (dunno how, pub talk for ya) and i told me mates that story but they think im completely bullsh*tting them, and want proof (ver hard to find) so was hoping for some clarification here

Well, heres something. Both of my girls were born with meat and two veg. Ferkin extraordinary. They now play football and want to be train drivers when they grow up. They constantly refuse to wear the dresses that I buy for them. I think that their deep voices maybe something to do with radiation as well.

S259 was the dodgiest radar I've worked on you could hear it singing as the array came round and once felt the old ball bag getting decidedly warm:S.
Rad badges where useless, I left one on a T80 magnatron for half an hour without getting called in to OC eng about excess radiation???.
Had plenty of zaps from the command tx on rapier.
One boy and one girl, so it must be bollux:PDT_Xtremez_28:
Although at Buchan the vast majority of JAFADS had girls.

I must know you dude as I am familiar with both of those. I once ran the 259 of a pulse generator for two weeks when we lost the station trigger. Anyoo back on topic... Rad Badges detect ionising radiation (x-ray etc) the issue with your pods kicking out girls is due to rf radiation.

hope that helps.....

In the 70s at Neat, we had a pongo penetrating our station defences and got on top of the R12. Had to switch off the 85 and rush him to hospital. Gather he very nearly emptied his bowels when told of the possible effects on his person, even at low power:PDT_Xtremez_14:

Heard the same had happened at Boul as well around the same time.

Was present at Buch later on when a steward guarding the 259 was found on the roof of the Ops cabin just feet away from the aerial (see! Scopies were near an aerial after all! Even if it was 259.). Another case of near bowel-loosing when informed of the possible effects of this practice.
