CCS at end of service

I can't find anything about this in the minefield of the AP's. Looked in the 3392 stuff but no luck. Any ideas at all?

Ask your discharge clerk in HR, it was the first thing mine told me when i moaned about doing my last fitness test in the mob, "You dont need to do MSFT in your last 6 months" she said. They must have the AP chapter and verse, I guess the same applies to CCS.

Nice one, will be going to see my discharge clerk in november then. Must be service wide then and not just an individual stn policy.

Nowhere is it written that you do not have to undertake the RAFFT in your last 6 months of service. In fact, both QRs and AP3342 state that only those deemed medically unfit or aged over 55 are exempt the RAFFT.

So, in theory, you could be prevented from proceeding on terminal leave until you have taken the test. At most units I would expect common sense to apply but as FN pointed out earlier common sense is not actually all that common. If you are ordered to underake the RAFFT then your choice is either to do it or to disobey a lawful command and risk facing everything that may fall out from that.

As said before, what can the do if you are leaving after your 22 point? Keep you in the RAF? What about charging you? Now if that was me and I was charged at that point, I would opt for Court Martial and make the RAF waste thousands of pounds and hours attempting to punish me that way...

All because of some jobsworth - can't see the RAF going for that option, more likely to be quietly forgotton.

I agree - but disciplinary action is something that COULD feasibly happen in this scenario. Unlikely - probably, but possible - most definitely.

As for the buggeration factor - many moons ago a scuffer was charged with "conduct unbecoming..." among other things following his actions on what should have been his last day in uniform. He was retained in the Service for an additional 3 months so that the charge could be heard and he could earn enough salary to pay the fine which resulted. Strange but true.

More apocryphal than that case is the story of the airman who was charged with being late for work. He supposedly exercised his right to trial by court martial thinking it would be dropped as too expensive but the Service Prosecuting Authority proceeded with the case so they could hold it up as an example.

These are extreme examples and I must stress I really don't think they are likely outcomes in this scenario. However...

It was a few months ago so I suspect amendment action has taken place, although why eludes me.

For what its worth,

After PVR'ing my last working day is next month, and I was still made to go down and attempt the Fitness test.

I ran until I felt Id made a reasonable effort and then stopped.

After the test I informed the PTI that I am out next month, so was guided into signing some paperwork.

Was given paperwork to say I am required to retake in 12 weeks, and that I can undertake my own training until that point. The fact is I won't be working in 12 weeks, so effectively it's the end of the matter.

Confirmed with the PTI, that I am just required to undertake my own training until I leave the RAF and thats it. (Apparently Im not the first)

An exercise in futility.
