So you get beaten and its everyones elses fault but your own. Oohh, Milan shouldn't even have been there. Oohh, Italians they are all corrupt. So what, Scousers are theiving ba5tards. Or is that a stereotype?

Its not The fault of the defender who tried to control the ball in his box and ended up giving it to Kaka. Its not the fault of Alonso who then brought down Kaka to give away a free kick on the edge of the box. Granted it took a minging deflection but I'm sure you get my point.

At the end of the day, Milan have proved they are the best team in Europe this season. they have scored more goals than anyone else, they have beaten great teams. they humiliated my team, Utd, and they beat Liverpool with a bit of luck.

Considering they are a team with an average age of thirtysomething they have displayed a remarkable amount of team spirit to deal with players like Gerrard, Ronaldo, Alonso, Rooney. For fcuks sake Maldini is 39 years old and two of Englands best teams couldn't beat him.

Liverpool will come back again and probably get to another final soon, I think Benitez has made them into a team perfect for playing in Europe. Whether they can challenge in the premiership is where Liverpool fans should worry.

Oh and by the way, I wanted Liverpool to win last night, purely because they are an English team. So before anyone starts with 'oh he's a Utd fan he's biased' I'm not.....so there.

I believe our players will be kicking themsleves this morning because we could have won that game. We didn't lose because the ref blew after 2.5 mins of the 3 mins injury time. Nor because Milan are a bunch of whatevers.
We lost because, against the well organised teams, we struggle to score. Pennant saw a lot of the ball but needs to be more productive with it. Gerrard was up for the game but didn't play a pivotal role. And, apart from running around chasing things all night, Kuyt was anonymous (well for the first half at least). This has been our achilles heel for a couple of years now and we need to sort it if we're going to go any further.
And before anyone chips in..Instanbul's don't happen every week. Barcelona shot themselves in the foot and we have played Chelsea so many times now it has become more of a chess game than a football match.
Still, we were there. 7 Euro finals and 5 wins is still a damned good record :PDT_Xtremez_30:

Ditto.

They lost as they weren't good enough. The bitterness shown in some previous posts is shocking, though I suppose you could put it down to the disapointment of defeat.

Shame about the fiasco with so many fans getting in with fake tickets. The police on the continent seem unable to handle these events at all well. Rangers vs Osasuan, Man Untd vs Lille and Man untd vs roma all suffered because of bad stewarding and ill trained, panicking, riot geared police!!!

The Uefa reports all confirm this was the case. i think the same will come out this time.

Think liverpool got it wrong last nigt. Needed to play 4-4-2. Shame they lost the goal just before half time. Had controlled the game up until then without creating much

Agger was defo at fault for second goal, didnt pick inzhagi up quick enough and the tried to play him offside and was left stranded.

Someone mentioned about the bitter posts previously. Yes, the bitterness of defeat does contribute to that, but the manner the Italians play generally is infuriating if not frustrating. Every time a 'Pool player challenged for the ball they usually rolled on the floor in apparent agony and seemingly sudden loss of ability to use their legs. It's cheating, it's annoying and it is f*cking frustrating because the Italian players obviously have some inherent skill. Funny how when a strong ref controls the game (Collina, the Italian baldy bloke was a great example), they have to drop the act and play as they actually can.

Oh and I'm a Newcastle supporter so I had no axe to grind.

What game were you watching?
Don't know when all the 'rolling around' happened. Also, this $hite about cheating, corrupt, Mafia etc is pathetic.

The game I saw was between a team in red, who had a lot of the ball but had no cutting edge, and a team of old men in white who played, for large parts of the game, like a pub team.

The main difference is that when they (the team of old men) got a chance to score, that's what they did.

Milan were there for the beating, unfortunately for Liverpool they weren't able to profit.

ps Gerrard should spend the summer concentrating on shooting with his swinger - what a chance.
