Have you ever thought of carrying a taser? I find on all the flights I go on that a lightly tased child is a quiet child!

Honeymoon 1996......BA flight to Jamaica.....row of 3 seats, me, Mrs Obe and some little 'unaccompanied' little bitch who we basically had to entertain on the whole flight. Little cow was a pain in the arse and I wrote a letter of complaint about it once back in the UK.

I can't stand parents who let their kids who about on flights, but to be fair, my 2 are always as good as gold.

I'd love to justify upgrading to BC/FCClub Class etc, but I don't think it's worth paying another £2K for no more than 20 hrs of flights. But....if I did have the money and could justify it to myself, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

I do find these days, and in any situation obnoxious offspring are foisted upon the public by anyone operating in loco parentia, that mentioning "how unusually attractive" the child is is enough to sow the seeds of doubt, and have the little turd removed from your environs - tout bloody suite.

We took our 23 month old to Menorca last year, and we made sure she was as well behaved, not kicking seats. We even took turns in walking her up and down the aisle when she wanted a bit of a wander. We were hoping she wanted a sleep, but no luck, not until 5 mins from landing. Which woke her up with a jolt. But the kids behind us were climbing on the seats, and kicking the seats. Which was making our job harder, with our little one as she could she could hear, and sometimes see what was going on. And couldn't understand only being nearly 2 why we wouldn't let her do those things. Now she is a proper stroppy 2 year old. She is not going anywhere near an enclosed space we cannot pull over and giver her 1/2 an hours freedom at periodic intervals. It's not going to happen. Not unless airlines have a peppa pig channel now.

I hate kids. So me and the mrs travel in school term-time and stay at couples hotels - Sandels etc. Bliss.

Why would anyone put themselves through all those years of torture. You only have to look at parents - especially dads - and see the misery written all their faces.

Anyway, I digress. Best advice is to buy a pair of decent earphones (Bose) and try and travel in term-time. And if they try and put a revolting child next to you, tell the stewardess your probation officer wouldn't approve. :PDT_Xtremez_30:
