I'm pretty sure the system just cant handle external OOO, even if you prefix with the release phrase.

I think is more to do with the security settings applied on the external gateway and not allowing system generated messages out of MoD. I can check though if you like as I know lots if people would like this function.

I agree with the Moss Sentiment- pants!

I was given a DII Laptop and after three months of frustration - and never getting on line with it I gave it back- it was then given to a colleague- who has also failed to get it to work despite hours on the phone to the SPOC- an expensive door stop really!

As for the costs associated with printer consumables- the mind boggles- how we can have such leaverage in purchasing and still pay so much- barmy.

Printer consumables are from MOD stationery contract and not DII, although I agree the prices are shocking £1k for toner for a A3 colour !

Cooheed they have bent the RAF over and done them up the arse.

Get rid and use what this TG4 shower are supposed to do :PDT_Xtremez_30:

Why is it "shocking"?

What is the cost of said part from a High Street store?

What is the cost of said part from an online supplier?

Where do we start? It is 2012 and we are using XP SP2 (2002), Office 2003 and IE6. Some have MOSS 2003. My UAD has a 2.4 GHz processor and 1 GB of RAM. I think my toaster is more powerful. Come the day of the glorious tech refresh (dont hold your breath) we will have new UADs (but not as fast as you could buy in PC World for half the price), Windows 7, Office 2010, IE8 and MOSS 2007. All to be delivered by summer 2014 when the contract expires. So we will be better off then we are now, but still not as good or as cheap as what we all have at home.Don't get me started on MOSS - another COTS product that the contractor has customised for us to the point that it no longer works as advertised.IMHO we should bin MS products and use Unbutu or some other free OS and Open Office (compatible with MS Office) and use the licence money we save on decent UADs. That and only having our own Secret network rather than Secret and Restricted. Do all restricted/secret work on Secret and do all unclassified stuff on the internet with banking standard security. That would save us a fortune.
