Since it's inception in September 2005 the site through it's loyal membership and volunteer staff has strived to acheive an ethos of comeraderie and benevolence. In it's most basic role it is a place where like minded people from an RAF or service background can find company, friendship and enlightenment. From these positives has risen a website that now gives something back to the Service community and shows a united spirit that is hard to match inother walks of society.
Normal funds are generated by running advertising (Google Ads) on the website and by trimming the subscriptions/donations after acquiring enough money to pay for the next years website hosting. Also, all our merchandise profit heads straight into our charity pot. In the future we are looking to run an annual charity event in to further boost the funds we generate for our chosen Forces Charity.
E-Goat makes £0.00 for itself or its owners and all money raised goes towards funding the following years server and domain fees and the rest goes to our charity pot.
Nick Lock, a young corporal suffering with colon cancer needed help to purchase new cancer fighting drugs to help fight his second bout with the disease. His friends with whom he worked with informed e-goat about Nick's plight and everyone jumped into action by allowing the community to donate to Nick's fund and by sourcing items to carry out a charity auction. E-goat and it's community managed to raise a staggering £4200 within 4 weeks to help raise the £27000 that Nick needed for his treatment.
Gemarriot hands the first installment of our donation to Nick
Unfortunately, shortly after Nick had started his treatment on the new drug he had a turn for the worse and sadly passed away. We would like to personally thank each and everyone of you for your efforts.
Rest in Peace Nick.
This is our chosen charity for 2007/2008(Until 1st of April) and at the moment we have currently donated £500 to Combat Stress with another £1500 heading their way between now and April. £847.83 was raised towards our next donation during a quiznight by mad_collie and colleagues at Al Udeid Air Base.
COMBAT STRESS CHEQUE PRESENTATION APRIL 11th 2008
April 11th marked the end of our year with Combat stress as our main charity. Our founder Wobbly and Hu Jardon represented the modern day RAF while Tinbasher and Captain Slog represented us Cold War Warriors and Wobbly's son represented our future, and very smart he was too. We gave them a cheque for £1500 bringing the total for the year to the £2000 seen on the cheque. Thanks to Flatpackdoom for the original artwork of Penguins Sucks, he went down a storm.

Following seeing a newly formed charity called Troop Aid on Noels Christmas Present, E-Goat staff got in contact with them to see how we could assist in their efforts. For those of you unfamiliar with Troop Aid and what it does, please look at their website Here. E-goat staff decided to help them directly rather than financially by providing direct logistical support by helping TroopAid get their grab bags to the Force Hospital at Camp Bastion by utilising a network of E-Goat members and their ability to move freight into theater. In the first year of assisting TroopAid, we managed to send over 600 grab bags to Afghanistan, as well as other needed equipment for the DMWS personel assisting injured troops. The support for TroopAid is still ongoing.
St Dunstan’s offer training in using typewriters or computers with magnification and screen-reading software. A scanner attached to the computer enables the user to read printed documents themselves, retaining or regaining their privacy. Computer skills can also open up career opportunities or provide the springboard for further learning. For many St Dunstaners, developing these initial IT skills has paved the way to successful careers.
These sort of facilities need independant funding to help support them - in 2009, LisaB, RAF Bird, and Grumpyoldb went along to present St Dunstans with an E-Goat cheque for £1000. This couldn't have happened without the tireless activites of our fundraisers, and all the wonderful E-Goat members whose donations and subscriptions go to help other less fortunate people.
