Since i seem to have been away from the supply sqns for too long now i have visited a few camps and seem somewhat confused by all the new names sections seem to have. Like Supply Sqn isnt even called that on one station its LSF and so on. However every camp seems to have its own names for sections so id just like to know what im meant to call things now??? Is ESG now RMG everywhere or not. Please help this confused wing mong i thank you.
 
Seems like the names change every few years now. When I joined up there was SCAF, Tech Stores, DSF, ESG, R&D, Fwd Del and POL. No sub sites, Sqn stores or displaced stocks. If the techies wanted a bit they demanded it, collected or had it delivered. I am sure someone will re-invent the wheel (again).
 
It’s the same everywhere, there is no point in leaning all the new names, as they seem to change every other month.

For instance, tech stores here is called ES and ESG is CSF and the whole of Supply is now called LS!

Maybe in ten years it will be changed back to supply, in good old military tradition of ‘change for changes sake’, who knows? I am only glad I will not be in then…

Anyway, just a thought…
 
So it seems every camp is just making names for sections up then? Isnt there any end to the madness? It seems as if POL is the only section who seems to of escaped the re-naming game unless im wrong.
 
Erm.... not here, POL is now called FL... madness!
 
Its not just supply- eng sqns have new and interesting names too, or old and interesting ones, or new and boring ones or old and boring ones

They have already. It's called LEAN. No Fwd Stores & Fwd Del deliver everything to everywhere...get in!
 
...oh yeah and next month we will no longer have a Logs Sqn but a new shiney FSS (Forward Support Sqn) with an techie wobbly as Sqn WO...let the games begin!

It' not just sections try the books.
asking the other day about the order for opening the hanger doors was told to look in SESOR'S. I just stared in blank incomprehension until i was told "you know the book with the engineering orders in it" to which i replyed "Oh the eng wing order book"

Mate, I thought you knew we are all called 'F&L' now. Also, here at that secret Oxfordshire base where you got very, very, very drunk the other day, 'F&L' is no longer part of 'Supply', 'LSW' or whatever it's called this week, we are now part of ASS, which is part of APOE wing. I like being part of ASS, and I now answer the phone saying ASS. Some people hang up and phone back, then ask the question....Airfield Support Squadron. (It's true and you couldn't make it up).

Can some wise stacker please tell me why Petrols, Oils and Lubricants. has changed to Fuels and Lubricants. I presume that its because some kn§bhead rodney stacker decided that oils and lubricants were the same thing? I take it that OM15 is no longer available cos its an oil and not a lubricant and in real techy terms is not used as a lubricant.

Or maybe I shouldn't even care.

Well if they don't care why should we ??? OM15 cans now the same shape/size as OX26....can you see whats gonna happen ?

Firstly, you shouldn't give a toss, why? 'cause here in the stacker world, we still refer to the old acronym's and so does everyone else, because that's the only way we all know what we are on about.

Secondly, the reason why POL is now F&L is (now I heard this on very good authority....a bloke in a pub told me) because of 'jointery' and the fact that our fellow services would get a little confused with the term POL, thinking that it would refer to....yes, 'POLICE'??? So, when the new JSP was introduced from the AP, the phrase 'F&L' was coined, making my life sh1t by having to amending shed loads of stuff....b@llox.


In conclusion...ignore it all and carry on as before.:PDT_Xtremez_19:

At the home of the wokka Supply Sqn is now called RMS (Resource Management Squadron), with LDF (Logistics Deployment Flight) replacing MSF who are part of LSF (Logistics Support Flight, how can a flight be within a flight?) and not part of BSF (Base Support Flight). The whole lot is part of FSW (Forward Support Wing), which us old and bolds used to call Eng Wing and it appears PSF have gone all David Brent on us and are no Human Resources. I still call POL by it proper name though and strangely my pay statements still come to Supply Sqn. Perhaps JPA knows something the sign writers don't....

Come back the Binbrook Model, all is forgiven.

APOE stands for 'Airport of Embarkation'.

I think a Sqn/Ldr needed a promotion, but there was nowhere for him to go, so was born a new wing, almost like the immaculate conception, but different.
