From my memory of CCS (gdt) it wasn't that good but better than nothing. Does the current training include the use of defibrillators and oxygen therapy?
No, it is as out of date s it always was but is better than nothing as you say. Those of us that have a proper first aid certificate are still asked to make ourselves known so they can ensure they inform us that what they are teaching isn't as up to date as our qualifications. As for oxygen therapy and defibrillators, I wouldn't class them as something your average first aider would have in their bag so it isn't taught. I do know that the defibrillators you find in some public places are very easy to use and I would be confident if I was handed one in an emergency though.
