POOR old Fern Britton.

It’s no wonder she’s proud of her figure now that she’s lost all that weight – but yesterday she was not so much showing it off as virtually showing it ALL.

Her out-of-this-world frock brought to mind those ethereal white get-ups favoured by Princess Leia in Star Wars.

Except that while actress Carrie Fisher’s flowing gowns covered a multitude of sins, Fern’s was so cinched in at the waist it was hard to notice anything other than her ample bosom.

Cutaway shoulders completed a daring image that some fans of the daytime TV show thought was more suitable for an evening –cocktail bar than the This Morning sofa from 10.30am.

Still, the bubbly 51-year-old mother-of-four seemed so pleased with her fabulous new figure that she was happy to flaunt it...................
