Fitness Test Failure Procedure?

  • Following weeks of work, the E-GOAT team are delighted to present to you a new look to the forums with plenty of new features. Take a look around and see what you think!
Has anyone actually been kicked out yet? (I know the PTIs and some line managers like to threaten that it "is happening" but I dont know of anyone who's been kicked out yet. I'd like to know the numbers, and what kind of fitness levels and attitude to the remedial they displayed.

People who are exempt fitness test (due to bad backs/knees etc) but clearly couldnt pass it (because theyre fat knackers) do my nut in, the air force has to keep these people in for several years on a permanent downgrade whilst people who arent downgraded, have a normal BMI, but struggle with running shuttles, end up getting warnings on their records and "potentially" kicked out

however i find it hard to believe that over a 36 week period of enforced PT you couldnt pass

Yes people have kicked out. One I knew even got recalled from daaarrrrn saaaarrrfff to face admin action & then leave.

People have also gone from the secret west midlands training base.

Two people from my former section were kicked out in early 2010. Both had numerous failures on record. Both were SACs on either 9 or 12 year engagements (cant remember) and had little or no chance of signing on, as they were Painters & Finishers who were finding it hard to re-muster.

To date, I have never heard of anyone on a pensionable engagement being kicked out.

I never thought of that!! I just pondered on the scant few I knew of that had gone, but on reflection you could have hit on something there.

The bloke I was talking about was a FS, so he would have been.
It wouldn't have affected his entitlement to immediate pension, though, surely?

To be honest I wonder that he let it get that far. For myself, I'd let it run as far as the FW before I said "Do you know, I'm too old for this crap and just can't be arsed with it anymore," and PVR'd. The pension's in the bag and so by definition it's not as if I exactly owe them anything.

Not that I intend to fail - I passed Rockport Walk just before Christmas!

I know someone who lost his third stripe for it and went back to being a two banana. Don't know if that now means he is exempt the RAFFT for his last couple of years of service or what?
