Fitness tests in final 6 months?

  • Following weeks of work, the E-GOAT team are delighted to present to you a new look to the forums with plenty of new features. Take a look around and see what you think!
My JPA said, "Exempt" for RAFFT in my last 6 months. I didn't ask for it, it just appeared. My wobbly asked the questions and was told exempt in last 6 months. Lets face it, I was on resettlement, terminal etc for 4 of those anyway.

I didn't do my CCS, even though I was out of date for my last 6 weeks either....!!!:PDT_Xtremez_42: I felt like such a rebel.

WTF do a civvy company care about a discharge write up.

I dont know? I am not a civvy nor a civvy company. I dont know if they see them or what they think. I never mentioned a civvy company did I? Even if the only people to ever see it are you and your boss it''s a pretty sh1tty thank-you after 22 years 'exemplary service'.

What I was saying is that your Military record means jack to a Civvy Company unless it has some connection to the MOD by sub-contract etc.
So your failure to take fitness test means diddly squat, as long as you can do the job you have applied for. All you get when you leave is a Certificate from a person who does not know you, it's not a right to work chit so again your record of Service on leaving means nothing, it's just another job to a civvy. Your quote seems to be the thought of many a serving member of the Forces.

As I was under the physio at the the 7 month point we were discussing the possibility of me taking the bike test, he rang the Gym and they confirmed that I would be exempt at the 6 month point, rather nicely he said that lower limb exercising would have a long term effect on my forever injury and he gave me a 28 day personal programme and a tea break chit to see the RI twice a week until further notice.

It's not all tea and biscuits though, after 22 years of doing a lot of fitness I'm now trying to keep up an healthy lifestyle with long hours and no support from work. Got a plan just got to wait for my brompton to be built.

As long as you kept your hair well cut and trimmed and your sideburns no longer than the middle of your ear then you are forgiven. Just don't do it again!

Chapter and verse is that there is no exemption from the RAFFT (or even CCS) for your last 6 months of service but in reality unless you have an anal boss who makes it a direct order, there's just no point. I have 34 fitness tests left in my RAF career - anyone who wants to make me do a 35th had better make sure he can run a lot faster than me! :raf:
