High pay-band...really?

I think this covers most of what I was trying to achieve when I started this thread. It was never my intention for this to turn into a pi55ing competition between Supply & MT.

When Payscam 2000 was first released it was announced that each and every trade would be reviewed every x ammount of years. The fact that some trades have managed to impress the review panel is not something to be sneered at by the rest of us.

It seems to me that the trades that have the most proactive trade sponsors are the ones that become vilified by the others. Stop moaning.

As many have stated during this thread that there are arguments for both sides, again, not quite where I was going. It is genuinely down to the TS and their willingness to fight for their trade…

The point I was trying to make was that it seemed they (MT) had made the jump on the back of TSW, having read the thread it would seem there was more to this than first thought (which is usually the case) we can only hope that when the next review is due for supply, that the same energy is given by our TS as was shown by the MT TS…

Anyway, just a thought…

As you quite rightly say there is usually much more to these decisions than what is apparent to those of us outside of the decision making process. There are undoutedly areas of payscam 2000 that should be addressed, but frankly I can't see that happening. Payscam 2000 is here for the next few years in it's present form and I'm afraid we all have to 'like it or lump it'.

Because there are only two ranges, it is inevitable that at some point a trade/rank will move from one to the another and cause emotive and devisive comments on the worthless nature of that particular trade.

I for one am waiting for the tirade of abuse I will get when my trade is reviewed next year, and SAC's, Cpl's and Sgt's are raised to the higher pay range. (My opinion, not fact!)

MT pay rise

MT pay rise

First of all, bless the little door slammers! MT Cpls and WOs did get a jump up to the high pay band on the back of TSW. Their OshKosh vehicles were sighted as the main driver on TSW (No joke intended). The MT Trade Sponsor, created a rule, that driver of these vehicles require a minimum of 1000 hours driving time before they can be let loose on them.

On another point, it was six weeks before MT knew that the pay rise had gone ahead because PMA were trying to phone each MT controll to tell them, but because there was not any drivers, noone found out about it!!

We need 10% of the trade to be assessed before any pay rise is initiated. I believe that we were close last time 9.4% approx, but 10% is 10%, so they awarded it to the rank conducting the review, you guessed it, WO. Synical or true, you decide!!!

Hmmm...

Bless them indeed - Personally, I think our JNCOs (MTD) were well deserving of said rise (especially considering we can submit a post properly...)

The fact that TSW's OshKosh vehicles were deemed 'A Class Driver only' is just one of several contributory factors in the decision to upgrade Cpl & WO MTDs to the high pay band. More significant is the Trade Training and Instructional role performed by JNCO MTDs; the following are extracts from the Trade Sponsor's letter (dated 30 July 2007) to all Units, informing them of the pay band change:

"The President of the JSJET stated that the Trade today, when compared to the previous review carried out in 2001, was unrecognisable and it was now pivotal to both Home and Deployed Operations..." "...In regard to the rank of Corporal, it was identified that a significant amount of responsibility was undertaken by this rank, in terms of Trade Training and their Instructional role, and this was one of the key elements against which an award was made."

Maybe if you get some help with your grammar, missuse of commas, etc. you too will be elligible for a pay rise...

Also, you don't need to submit posts twice - just the one will suffice...

Good luck in your next review and just let me know if you need a lift anywhere - or if you want to borrow a fiver... :PDT_Xtremez_28:

Should be "misuse":PDT_Xtremez_14:

Apologies. Im just being pedantic.

That's not like you T93, lol! :PDT_Xtremez_30:

(typical, I read my own post loooaaads of times before submitting it, just so as to avoid such a reply! Ahh well, it's Monday...) :PDT_Xtremez_28:

Which one being pedantic or highlighting a spelling mistake? I guess both link into each other :PDT_Xtremez_28:

Im just a bit tired this morning. Last weekend I was away with the family and we were stuck in a succession of Staus on the A8 last night. All the way from Stuttgart to Augsburg arrghhhhhhhh:PDT_Xtremez_34: Especially not fun when there is a 1yr old in the back.

No worries. No malice intended, just a bit cranky

Ahhh yes, the A8!

I was sat (static) on there for a good 3 hours on the way back from Oberammergau after New Year - nice! The frustration was compounded by the sound of my two girls' Nintendo DSs beeping away on the back seat...

The joys of modern travel...

Tight sod. Buy them some headphones with you massive pay rise then slammer.:PDT_Xtremez_15:

This is a genuine question - how do they justify the rule that only MT can drive the Oshkosh (or Artics for that matter)?

Special needs.????????? Only slammers and rocks can be class A drivers although MT fitters can get away with it now and then. Don,t worry MTD's will get just desserts in the end when they all end up driving for the RLC.

Going fully off topic, although it is road related:PDT_Xtremez_14:

The A8 between Augsburg & Munich is a nightmare these days with all the roadworks. It is rare that I drive any further north than Ulm on the 8. Unless Im going upto Antwerp.

We spent New year at Bodensee. Really nice.
