It's the old arguement about the road tax being transferred to the fuel.
The more miles you do do, and the more wear you put on the roads, the more tax you pay.

Seems fair to me.

I totally agree with you on that point.

Scrap road tax and then sack all the hoopers that issue it and send you reminders, oh and also the gits who walk up and down the street ratting on you, as you cannot dodge paying road tax if its on fuel!!

Those who do the most miles, use the most fuel therefore pay the most tax, simple really isnt it?

I for one certainly wont be voting labour at the next election, although the alternative is a might scary too!!!

My car tax is going up from 210 to 300 freekin quid, WTF!! I only do about 8k a year FFS!

£15 increase on it's own doesn't seem too bad, but when you consider that it's an extra £15 for absolutely fcuk all on top of the increased price of fuel etc I would still rather have it in my pocket than this abortion of a government we are currently afflicted by:raf: :PDT_Xtremez_09:

This year £210, 2009 - £415, 2010 - £430.

FFS it's only a 2.2! Also, what really grips my sh1t is that from next year it's a retrospective tax. The original announcement gave you the nod to watch what you buy from now (2006) as these are the tax implications. Now, people are being penalised for what they bought years ago. Totally unfair and the sooner these tw@ts are out on there @rses, the better.

£120 next year and £125 in 2010, and for Mrs SCJ £150 and £155, (we have yet to see actually how much money we will have to fork out so I won’t believe it till I see it) so that’s not so bad.

What makes you think the "next" lot will be any better? They still have all the pressures “this lot” have to clean up “the world”, but what pizzez me off is the price of fuel. FFS Diesel is going through the roof and it won't be long till it hits £1.50 a litre and petrol close behind.
Diesel prices rose above petrol about 3ish years ago, the reason being that there was a shortage of heating oil. I reckon its because more cars use it and them tw@ts (Fuel suppliers and Government) can screw us over more by a sly increase, cos it didn’t do down in the summer. At the same time gas was 38 pence a litre now it’s about 50 Pence. Why? Cos more people are using it, that’s why, and they can screw us some more.
I F00kin’ hate this place....It used to be Great Britain and the United Kingdom, now it’s a sh1t hole, with every jack scrounger coming over here for a free meal and the idiots in power “doing us over” at the first opportunity.
END RANT
Hope this helps.....It hasn’t for me, I need a beer now.

£215 in April 09 and I do drive one of these :PDT_Xtremez_43:
(But it is an 03 model hence the cheap tax)

Car Tax

Car Tax

£185 last year, £185 next year...
Mine was first registered before 2001, thankfully, as it has a 2.5l V6 that only gets 26 mpg on a good day (and 12-15 on a fast day!).

At least my insurance is cheaper - £125/yr fully comp...
