How's the RAF coping

  • Following weeks of work, the E-GOAT team are delighted to present to you a new look to the forums with plenty of new features. Take a look around and see what you think!
This is the Goat the unofficial rumour service about all things RAF. Remembering at all times that OP Sec is paramount But how is the service coping with the dreaded Covid 19?

Training establishments I guess are finding it extremely difficult to practice social distancing whether that's Phase 1 initial training with drill, weapon training, classroom sessions etc or Phase 2 training, from memory most of the classrooms at Cosford are to small for 17 people to properly practice 2metre spacings. Out in the wider RAF the working environment must surely have undergone changes in systems. Are haircuts suspended etc etc. So chaps how's is Betty Windsors flying circus coping?

My lad is at the top secret base just south of Lincoln.

He has just finished a week of guard and on the sqn they are working alternate days.

He has just told me that he doesn't know about haircuts, he just slaps Brylcreem on and combs his hair up under his beret.

Shirley the training Sqns are like that submarine ?
If nobody goes home the 100(?) troops involved can't catch it, social distancing not needed.

Ah yes remember the god old eighties when New Romantics movement was still about. Always spoilt one hair wearing a beret as you teased the Phil Oakey style length back. Came as a shock when the SWO does an inspection. o_O

@JollyRoger835

Thank you.

WRT the info contained within the IBN, Journo's trawl this site looking for tidbits as do those in the RAF Ivory Towers keeping us in check :)

Also within the IBN were 2 mod.gov.uk addresses, work email is low risk (Business Card info) but it gave name, role and location - what can we get from this?
  • Their PUID
  • Email scrapers can start spamming/phishing their mod.gov.uk address
  • Bad guys can start looking at their Linkedin and social media - photographs. pattern of life etc, family members.
Bit of a leap, but you get my point.

You can see here, even from FoI's, they redact the names, individual addresses etc:
