IMLC Pre-Course Work

  • Following weeks of work, the E-GOAT team are delighted to present to you a new look to the forums with plenty of new features. Take a look around and see what you think!
There has been some good advice on here, but TBH I wouldn't bother bringing any old SJARs or 6000's.
The course is pretty comprehensive. You could use them as a reference, but you may find them a hinderence as it's all about developing your own writing style.

Its really not worth getting your knickers in a knot about prior work, as has already been said, you need a pen picture, an outline for your WBA and the areas for improvement in yourself. All in your JI's, that's it. Get those sorted, then relax. Just be prepared to put a bit of effort in, especially in the first week.

I'm enjoying myself enormously.

Ah the acting Sgt may make it soon! Always good with the advice.

Just done mine in Apr / May and as r0jaws says there is no need "NO NEED!" to woory Just hae a subject in mind for the WBA, do your pen picture and make sure that all the uniform especially your blues is in good nick. TV reception in the towers was crap. You get issued a laptop for the course from ACS to do all your work on and all the templates for the WBA and SJAR are already loaded on them by the It guys. Take your webbing as we were informed that the course was due to change slightly soon and this may include the re-inclusion of an exercise at the end but dont quote me. Its not a difficult course if you go with the right attitude and enjoy it which most people do.
Regards FP

IMLC...My nightmare

IMLC...My nightmare

I'm attending my IMLC in just over a weeks time, and like most of you I was racking my brain trying to come up with an idea for the WBA. The thing to bare in mind is that it doesn't matter what you choose for a topic the point of the the exercise is to construct a piece of work that supports an argument. I have it on good authority that you don't produce the WBA in a one go you gradually build it up over you time one the course.

The thing I'm stressing over is the CLT's, although you are only required to do two of them, I just can't get over how bad my experience of them was during my JMLC. In a way I'm hoping the criticism I get will be more constructive as at times I felt totally demoralized by my DI. If any of you are on it between the 18 of Jan to 5 Feb I look forward to seeing you and trading some good GEN.
