- the point made earlier, albeit maybe not as succintly as it should have been, is that when something COMPLEX is being taught, one doesn't, normally, get full value from an instructor until well into the 2nd year. I should be curious to know if you instructed on JATCC? If you did - how long was it before you could say you were an 'expert'?

but at the end of the day it’s about the service given to the stude.

Hurrumph! I've been to one of those (Chaka's) parties...threw my keys in the middle...and ended up with one of Mr Kahn's Austin Allegros!!!

Just like Mrs B...it was a fair runner though!!:o
 
YCCMA- I would doubt the Laughing Chav's instructor credentials too, somewhat lacking I feel? Still I'm always up for a giggle!

The Controller- Leave Mrs B out of this one! Actually most of our cars are 'Sally Gunnels'. Bloody ugly, but good runners!:)

Must go and wash me 41 cars out on the forecourt, and I must remember to bring all those keys home this weekend, you never know!:D
 
Hi guys,
At the end of the day providing the product that reaches the coal face is of a good stnadard it shouldn't matter how much time the instructor has done in post. The courses are constantly being updated to reflect new methods of operating....usually before the changes hit the front line. You could in fact argue that the instructors are more current than many people doing the jobs for real.
For info I am not now and have never been an instructor.....not because i can't do it, more because i don't want to!!

Quite agree but what chance have PMA got? To be able to attack the Castle, ford the moat and get out a Cat 'o' nine tails to whip out the dead wood that you say is hiding up there? The portcullis would require the finest of Blacksmiths that the Camerons could provide just to get inside the building in the first place!

Perhaps it would be best to leave the status quo as it is before contemplating how to wreck sam!

Finally, as has been said before, it takes a couple of years to get established as an Instr. 3 years is too short! There are also so many diverse 'jobs' within the CATCS HQ Empire that take another 1-2 years to master eg. GTF,ARTS,TM, Supervisor etc! Throw in OOA deployments and you should get my drift.

I'm sure that FOTF are the same, plus they carry the burden of more JR crap duties that come along.

See, there you go again. Why can't you say along the road instead of down the road? Then we might all be on a level playing field, applying blue sky thinking and looking for fast balls from left field!

Still it is better than being a middle of the road FOTS bod!!

JATCC Instrs look up to ARTS Instrs, ARTS Instrs looks down at JATCC Instrs
Everyone looks down to FOTS Instrs
Everyone looks up to the ATCEB, ATCEB look down on everyone.
Students look up to all Instrs, all Instrs look down at Students
Controllers look up to SATCO, SATCO looks down on Controllers
FOMs look up to SATCO, Controllers look down on FOMs
Everyone looks down on FOAs
FOAs rim everyones tea cups.

Right...scientific bit! Just been outside with YCCMA....(thank God for thermals and string vests...but the smell of stale urine dies down)...and I emptied one of my bags...(not the reserve)...and guess what??? IT WENT DOWN THE ROAD!!!....I rest my case.

True but......................................We shouldn't have to look up to them.

I DO have respect for what they do and as profesional people but not up.

Surely people should look up to us for the job we do in that case? (Not just instructing either, talking about all aspects of the trade here)

Oh sorry.....is this fighting talk again?

Aren't FOTS in the middle?

So JATCC look down the road to FOTS and FOTF look up the road to FOTS? Therefore FOTF are at the bottom of the road and lower than FOTS? :confused:


What about the ATCEB? They are right at the top of the road so they must look down on everyone, like I said Insideoutman!

Maybe it's the other way around and we all actually look down at the ATCEB and FOTF are at the top of the road?

I got to have a lie down now and find a skirt to look up as HilstonP says.:)
