Lots of rumors and gossip about Supplier post cuts- any truth to this?

The latest ACOS Manning shows we will have approx 120 empty slots by the end of the year is this going to be the size of the cut?

The BIG downside will be OOA coming around a hell of a lot quicker!!!::P:
 
Quite a few of us here in new plaything land posted or out and no sign of anyone replacing us either...
 
They're going to have a few problems when they see sense then and bring the forward stores back!
 
Lean will solve it all, well, it will give a few Rodneys promotion anyway...

A bit off thread but we've still got them! And we seem to have not that many problems. Items at point of use? Techie getting what he needs in under 2 mins? Aircraft on the line quicker that if they waited to get the bit from Fwd Del? It will never catch on!

I've also heard that all the vacant posts will be going too. Which doesn't help when we have a new Sqn starting here soon and no one to man it.

The rumours were confirmed by the Desk SNCO, hence the promotion board of SAC/CPL being changed from 35 immediate to 5, big moral boost there then. Apparently we have done without the 120 Airmen for so long we never really needed them in the first place, simple really, if you are sat behind a desk in Command somewhere and not dealing with irate Techies every day. Only so many times you can use the excuse "lack of manpower" before they get bored.

Then again the same desk SNCO said JNCO's would not be allowed out of Trade and this was policy TFN, when I am sat in a section of 4 cpls - 3 of which are of to AFCO's and other non trade related jobs within 3 weeks of his garuntee.
 
As I understand it, there is only one solution.

Clone Ber*** Ash****t, she says she does everything and better than anyone else.

That would solve everyones manning problems, feck up morale though!!!

OOOOOH.....can you imagine hundreds of 'em running around!!!!! To be fair, she puts a lot more effort in than quite a few, maybe not with the desired results sometimes.....but hundreds of 'em running around? That's a scary thought!!

Fine, so it seems the rumours are true (again) and we are to be cut 'again' this raises a few concerns for me including:

  • Which posts will be cut- all the gapped slots or will some science be applied?
    Will this new policy of cutting slots stop Sqn Cdrs releasing people early on PVR/time served and gapping slots- with the PMA promise of back fill?
    Do we have any guarantee that this will be the last time this occurs (well at least for a couple of years!)

    If people are not getting promoted after being selected in the original boards surely they will leave (aka 1991/2/3)?
    If one of the JHC Units does close will we be required to lose another 150 slots?
    Is this really a plot to get the overall RAF figure down even lower?

    And probably more importantly how do we get ourselves out of this mess (Lets be honest PMC/PMA/ACOS Manning have other problems at the moment)

Another wee thought, if all the MOB's lose 10 posts (a rough but fair guess!) how do we manage to support 2 Ops and all the initatives we are currently required to fulfill and get the three PT sessions in every week!
Surely we have already lost that many posts in the time we give up to PT!

Can we get Middle East Shaddow Posts established to try and ease the pain?

Lets get a proper establishment review initiated, argue our corner and see what falls out - with no predetermind results! At least we might have some faith in the results - :PDT_Xtremez_30:
 
Just a thought on this one. The ACOS appointments register still shows 20 Gp Capt posts over 100 Wg Cdrs and 200+ Sqn Ldrs. Thats an awful lot of people who arent employed at MOBs. Anyone care to do a comparison on non commissioned numbers.
 
I think you might find that the proposed job cuts have already happened. This is old news and the jobs were taken during the last round of cuts. SAC - Cpl promotions should hopefully be coming through soon. Numbers not confirmed.

SAC - Cpl: 17 slots released. Spoke with TS yesterday.

The prediction from the TS is that they could still need 55.

Just a rumour I heard as a preperation for the cuts taking place in the SNCO ranks within DE&S (DLO)? ::P:

Off Topic Not being a memeber of a Supply Sqn (sorry Logs Sqn) I am a bit out of the loop with what the good and the great have planned for us- hence the original question!Off Topic

From what I've heard the board is still trudging along; No 63 had just been reached.

140 slots for the offski in TG18 by next year reducing us to 1863 approx.

If you PM me Robby I'll provide you with some interesting stats from TG18 in the last 6 months.

Not heard that about the possible 55 cuts, last gen from TS last week said it was old news. First few SAC-Cpl should be told this week. Saw the interesting stats today......

Heard TMT last couple of weeks was dull.

Nice to see that romance is not dead.. I wish you and Robby all the best.
