Can I just say in JPA's defence (donning Kevlar helmet)...............

I've just managed to get on line for the first time (It was 17.30 by the way...) and changed all the stuff I had to change - peice of ****.

Haven't tried a leave pass or travel claim yet. I'll leave that delight untill tomorrow night. :PDT_Xtremez_14:

And to burst your bubble - now that both AMP and DCDS(Pers) are as equally peeved at how crap JPA is performing the new working times have been published

0700 - 1200 - PMA Wallas and Higher level users only
1200 - 1700 - rest of the Air Force!!!
1700 - 0700 - JPAC

Yep thats right both Trade desks and O&NCA will be in work at 0645.

Read and weep

I don't know what you lot are all moaning about. I've got no problem with JPA. I've just ignored it and made sure I had a large stock of 295D's ,1771's etc So far I've had no problems with anything but then again I'd better get my head out of the sand soon....and try to log on ....LOL:PDT_Xtremez_42:

Of course I'm sure that you've completed your JPA training and/or read the online help that is provided. http://www.ipublish.dii.r.mil.uk/nlapps/data/docattachments/self_service/about1.htm This guide is written in a non-technical manner using as little computer speak as possible.

I've been reading the posts on this and other threads since JPA went live and whilst I am as frustrated as everyone about it's current failings, some problems aren't really problems they're just down to people not bothering with the training or too people being lazy to read the online help.

Yep dude i have done the training package and the one time it let me on and worked smoothly, i got everything done that i needed to do, putting in leave etc, the only thing i cant figure out is how to submit my 1771 as yet and was mearly querying if anybody else had managed to submit one as of yet !!!!, as i just cant get my head round the claims side of it yet :PDT_Xtremez_34:

Ahh Death_Banana, I think I've just identified the problem. You're not down with the lingo. What you refer to as 1771 no longer exists. Its now expenses. I think you may have a problem putting leave in aswell. DOH!!! Absence. Terminate me now, please!!!!!!

We've just had a stn wide tannoy informing us that JPA here has been effectively switched off to improve performance...what a load of bolleaux...

JPA broken?

JPA broken?

Just been told here we are banned from logging in now. Great another F***ed up system procured by the MOD. For all the adminers out there I have some very good friends in legal positions (they did better at school than me) Mess my pay up - then you'll be messing with them!

Bet the cnut who decided on JPA 'The way forward' has been posted or retired!

Don't pick on Adminers...!!

Don't pick on Adminers...!!

Bring back PSF !! All is forgiven... At least before JPA you could talk face to face with someone about where your pay had gone and why your travel claim hasn't been processed. These days all you can do is throw your PC out of the window to vent your frustration and then you lose e-goat. The situiation sucks !!!

JPA 48hr lockout

JPA 48hr lockout

Well it's offical JPA is cr@p we the Self Service User have been locked out to facilitate our pay to be calculated and allocated.

For F***s Sake what type of Gov. buys a system can't handle the demand of a single Service let alone 3!! I bet the the other 2 Services are looking at this and going OMG and now saying we're not cutting over.

All I can say is well done you tozzers in the head office yet another wonderful system for the RAF, LITS, LEAN and JPA all in 10yrs and not a single lesson learned. Bah.

Well what did we expect from a system that Boots & Sainsbury's have had for years. :PDT_Xtremez_25: Any one worked out how to get food charges back when on leave. Oh stupid me, you cant!!!! By the Boots and Sainsbury's are getting rid of it coz its Rrrrrrubish ::/: :PDT_Xtremez_14:

Just been told by the W.O. today that unofficially the RAF are telling people to arrange overdrafts for the end of the month. Anybody else been told this load of S**T

It'all all be over in the morning

It'all all be over in the morning

Well I think its crunch time today isn't it.

I too heard that it would be wise to ensure you have sufficient funds to cover any problems, told should have that anyway JPA or not.
(Don't know where I can get a few grand from just in case - where's that number for Ocean finance {full of sharks!}-)

If all goes well then the system wil start getting quicker we, will all get paid. We will get our food back automatically if we put leave in and can claim for stuff without having to justify everything in quaduplicate (is that a word?)

If not then the claims for overdraft fees and bounced cheques and bank fees will start going in and the whole system will die......
Does anyone know if they have a backup of the SAMA database ready to go back on if the pay run fails?

Or is it all too late.......FINGERS CROSSED X

I know thae pay run wa succesful and all that crap but the backup just for info was to re-run teh march pay run on legacy, overissue and all and then deal with the fallout after. Thank F**K the pay run on JPA worked I could not have dealt with angry people whinging about the same problems this month as they did last month, even though my favourite quote is "I am sorry I cannot view your pay statement on JPA, we lost that facility when they pulled the plug on SAMA, however, ring JPAC who will be happy to answer your query". I liked this line until i discovred the JPAC can't see them wither. Happy Days..................

By the way if anyone has worked out how to start MUFC i would love to know.......

Secure or not Secure!?

Secure or not Secure!?

Everytime i use internet banking; i get a little padlock at the bottom of my screen and my browser changes to https in the url bar - both of these indicators tell me my information is secure.

So how come JPA, which holds all my personnal details, bank details and next of kin - not forgetting of course my bloody address has neither the little padlock nor https?!!

Does this mean all my data is not secure?!!!!!!!

Please dont bombard me with any technical stuff, i'm just a bog standard techie, but this seems barmy and bloody ridiculous.

Depending which Computer Network you are using (CHOtS, COMIC, ISS etc) will depend on whether you get the padlock and the https (Operating System will also detemine this). It is, however, not important. The military networks aresecure networks so there is no need to have the padlock or https.

If, when JPA goes onto the World Wide Web you fail to get the padlock and the https, THEN YOU SHOULD WORRY!!!!!!!

JPA Users

JPA Users

Told today that it could be 14 May before we can get back on the system. Its server can only handle 50 users at anyone time !!! Good look army and navy!!! Looks like they brought the £14.99 tiscali version with a down load limit. The best of it is if you attempt to log on you get reported to harry the station commander. One or two of use have tried to put in manual allowance claims to be told no wait until its up and running. Did you know that leave cannot be entered retrospectively either, so fill your boots.
Somebodys head should roll for this fiasco.

sigh, yeah, the thing is (and despite lots and lots of warnings that all of this was going to happen) we all know that no one, not one single solitary person will get even the slighest ticking off. Nor will anyone show any backbone, stand up and take responsibilty - utterly wrong and utterly appauling

AS meerkat says no one will get a ticking off for the JPA fiaso indeed several persons will probably be awarded commendations/knighthoods etc for their hard work once the bloody thing finally works that is.
