Lancaster to the sky?

  • Following weeks of work, the E-GOAT team are delighted to present to you a new look to the forums with plenty of new features. Take a look around and see what you think!
It'll have to leave by road as there is only about 4000' of runway left and it looks cut-off from the hangars.

Good luck to them, wonder what paperwork has to be done !

Masses of it be assured. Its one thing getting this aircraft to taxying condition, quite another to jump through all the hoops the CAA would need to get it flying again; component records, structural inspections, design authority top cover. They may have it, but it'll all have to be hunky dory before it gets an airworthiness cert.

Whilst it would be absolutley excellent to have two flying Lancs in UK and perhaps this one will work out. I do hope it doesn't become another bottomless money pit for the gullible like the VTTS project.

They seem to have done very well so far without public appeals. Don't forget that the VTTS were taking their cut for wages as well.

It seems that she can indeed take to the grass. Here's a vid of a "Tail-up" run.

Victor type mishap ????? What happened? I'm presuming its the Elvington Victor ?

Shame

Shame

Good old days of if it had enough power it could fly.

Being a non aircraft techie, do you need the same paperwork for a private owned aircraft, rather than a public display one?

Can they not just fly them a bit with trade plates on! ok a few people may get hurt but, lincolns pretty flat and soft.

If you are going to fly it you need to comply with the reams of regulation the CAA because of the possible ramifications if it crashes, e.g. onto a town, road etc etc. Ex military aircraft need a Permit to Fly.
