Leave Policy Change - No Zeroing after 3 yrs.

  • Following weeks of work, the E-GOAT team are delighted to present to you a new look to the forums with plenty of new features. Take a look around and see what you think!
So it can be done and they have the authority of directed policy (not that I agree with the policy but that's not the point here). Why does it screw things up for future years?

the latest direction (in the SP Pol letter, Feb 10 - might have been Feb 09 thinking about it) was that it could not, and therefore, would not be carried out, despite the policy remaining. Crazy really. Even crazier that some took upon themselves to make up a work around to implement it anyway.

creating a minus balance on the leave record is how it mucks it up. You could be awarded AA at a later date (AOC Standdown, Xmas standdown etc) and it would just reduce your minus balance and you dont actually get it.

And unfortunately, any AA carries forward to the following year, if this happens go pester your HR clerk.

Oh and TBJ - really, you were a JPA HR Professional? ;) They removed the ability for the clerks to adjust the ALA quite some time ago.

Don't shatter my illusions, they're all I have left!

That being so, the policy becomes unenforcable presumably? What are A1 Spec Spt doing about it?

Can someone explain what I have left then please.

I am overseas and my "PSF" is Army, WO11 aged about 11 and been in the mob about 5 days!!!!!!!!

As you can see not the best person to take advice from regarding my admin, I would therefore be grateful if somebody from my own "tribe" can help me out?

I have 35 days leave left, a mix of annual and carry forward. I am overseas and posted back in March 2012. The reason I have so much leave left is that we have had a gapped post for 6 months and its been near impossible to take leave, a replacement finally comes in next month. I will then be punching some days out.

Do I now have to use the lot before returning to the UK, I would ideally like to carry some forward as I intend to bang out next year and so use them up with my resettlement package.

Thanks in advance for any help offered.

As long as you get down to 15 you should be fine, Do you think you will be ok to get another 20 days in before you go?

Keep an eye on your leave though as you come to to the end of your tour next year just in case they try and do something a bit funky. Easier to sort it there and then rather than try to get it sorted at your new unit.

Quick question on PODL, is it correct you get 14 days for a 4 month det? Also how is your entitlement to PODL added to your balances? Is it automatic or a manual entry?

I ask as we have a guy back from a 4 monther who claims to have 24 days PODL!

It gets added onto your JPA automatically. If you look at your leave balance there's a line for POL.
