If you wanted to go Posh? - Tea at The Ritz!

Nice venue - nice piano playing and nice menu for... Tea! Comes complete with Ritzy sarnies. But you do have to wear the right clothes!!!

I took Mrs Rigga there and we stayed for three hours! (with family & Friends)

Dont know where the time went.

And follow it up with ANY show in Town.

Using the London eye as a reference point seeing as it is booked.

Can recommend a variety of places to venture towards. On that side of the river you can pop into the London Acquarium (located next to the eye) or wander a bit further down and you can visit the London Dungeon, or indeed just keep walking down along the south bank passing various decent little pubs crossing Tower Bridge to the Tower of London.

The Imperial War Musuem is worth a gander or alternatively head over to the Natural History Museum.

Loads of decent wee stores hidden around Covent Garden and quite a few good places for food and vino.

Check listing before hand and see what is on at the Shakespeare Globe Theatre. Hand in hand with that and as everyone else suggested - try to get to one of the shows. Recommend Phantom of the Opera, but loads out there and one is bound to appeal to you both.

Jeeze - and that's not even considering the norm of Buck Palace, Oxford Street, Picaddilly etc

Have a great time - quite fancy popping down again myself now!!

I don't think anyone’s mentioned Camden Market yet. It’s a bit of an eye-opener. Don’t just stick to the main street though, make sure you venture deep into all the little market alleys for all the weird and wonderful sights and shopping. There might even be something half decent playing at somewhere like the Roundhouse. Not bad for celeb spotting too since MTV UK HQ is slap bang in the middle.

Food wise, if you’re after something a bit memorable and unusual I know just the place! Dans Le Noir is a French restaurant with a difference: All the waiters are blind and you eat in the dark. Instead of ordering what you would like you order the white (surprise), blue (seafood), green (veggie) or red (meat) menu and tell your waiter what you won’t eat. The chef then makes something to your tastes and you only find out what it is after the meal is finished. It’s apparently all to do with heightening your other senses, mainly taste buds but I reckon most people probably like the idea of playing footsie in the dark.

It’s not for everyone though. Me and Mr CA had a table booked to take a friend out for a birthday treat but we had to cancel because her boyfriend was terrified at the thought of eating in the dark (I can’t wait to go now, just have to re-book!). It can’t be bad though, apparently Prince William and Kate Middleton have been several times. If it's good enough for royalty...

London Dungeon on Tooley Street, right outside London Bridge tube station.

Avoid Covent Garden like the plague, it is hideously overpriced and full of tourists. I can highly recommend lunch at Gordon's Wine bar just up from Embankment Tube (it looks run down from the outside, but trust me) and if you insist on consuming champagne then Kettner's in Soho has a superb selection and good food. I loathe musicals and so tend to avoid the West End, but the restaurants in China Town are all good. There is an excellent Italian just off Piccadily near the RAF Club, but I can't rememer the name for the life of me - it is toward the Park Lane end of Curzon Street. Trader Vic's beneath the Park Lane Hilton is usually good for cocktails and food - try the hot buttered rum, although you may need to remortgage the house if you stay for more than a couple of rounds.

I agree that the second Comedy Store sitting is well worth the money, as is Jongleurs in Camden you might also get the odd surprise guest performer. Both turn into nightclubs at the end of the night and the drinks are reasonably priced.

If your chap fancies a bit of pampering then an appointment with Geo Trumper for a wet shave is always good - they have shops on Curzon Street and Jermyn Street, where your chap could pre-emptively spend the operational bonus on dapper clothing should he feel the need.

Oh yes, and Fortnums for lunch with a bottle (+) of their house white. Then stagger off and spend far more than you ought on stuff which seems indispensable at the time, but later reveals itself to be less so.

God, you are in for a treat. I love London.

Guys and gals thanks for all your advice. Was lucky the fella has an iphone cos had to go on a few times to remind myself where you'd told us to go.

We had an awesome weekend and visited a few of the places and boozers you lot recommended, thanks.

Sadly we didn't get to the comedy store and we both really wanted to go. Just rang up too late (about 8 days before we went so get in quickly fr future reference!) we did go on the London Eye which is defo worth a trip, however if you are going to do it I would defo recommend booking through the forces booking line and going for the champagne trip. We literally turned up 5 mins before out trip and there was only 6 of us in our capsule (and of course we had champagne) compared to people who queued for roughly an hour and a half and there was about 30ish in each of their capsules. So defo worth booking through the forces discount line.

Also went to the Absolute Ice Vodka bar which was ace. You have to pre-book for a 40 min slot which you get a cocktail in the price. The bar is -5 degrees in there and everything is made of ice.... the chairs... the bar.. even the glasses! You get these huge coats with big furry hats and gloves to wear and the atmosphere inside is ace!! The drinks were lush as well.

They were just a couple of the extra things we did........... oh we did accidentally end up in a gay bar in soho and my fella was getting touched up!! ha ha funny as!!

Anyway thanks again we had a brill time. x :)
